How is work/life balance in the industry? I had a friend who left a large studio many years ago due to long hours and increased pressure/stress

I'm the worst person to ask because I work for the VFX shop that probably has the highest standard of work/life balance that I know of -- but from what I hear not much has changed in the industry recently. My advice: YOU as an artist have to put your foot down with your hours.

I love my wife to pieces, but I have only her to blame for my time-consuming daily games habit. First she works on Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, and Strands at The NY Times, and now my whole friend group is obsessed with Spark so I’m playing that every day.

I have this problem at home and it was power surges that momentarily fail to give enough power to the computer and it would freeze and reboot. Got a UPS and it’s significantly improved, though it doesn’t seem to protect the computer if it’s not pulling enough power…

It gets nice stains on the bits that reach the floor though

Looks fun! I’d definitely recommend against shifting the UI upwards for the “maybe later” notification button, someone could be reading or trying to tap during that moment. Probably better to reserve the space
