Mes parents sont de gauche, athées, etc. Mais aussi ils m'ont montré qu'il y a des choses plus importants que l'argent, et cela m'a influencé beaucoup, surtout quant à ma carrière

Congratulations from Paris 🥳
The week I've been watching Columbo (the episodes are free on YouTube!). I've been surprised how beautifully crafted each episode is. I've always loved a whodunnit and I like the format flip ('howcatchem'). Falk is just so damn charming, I can see why this is such a classic
This week I watched Red Rooms (Les Chambres Rouges). I thought it was fantastic: well-acted, tense, and thought-provoking, however there's a massive warning for deeply disturbing themes and content. Unlike Roger Ebert I liked the ending. The climax (in the courthouse) is fantastic (and so horrible)
This week I read Love Needs No Words by James Hunt. I've followed his Instagram account (@ storiesaboutautism) for years and I think the book is really pitched at his followers. However, it's easy to read and very warm and honest. It feels like a very valuable insight into a world we wouldn't see
I'm with you Felix!!
I noticed the people in the background moving weirdly and unnaturally. Took me most of the video though!
When I was writing my PhD I wanted to have this quote as a humorous chapter opener, but I couldn't find any source except those quote websites so I didn't include it. The idea of not checking your quotes is crazy to me
I think it is insanely bad academic practice to try and quote people from memory and I don't know if I believe he would do that

...Methods of punishment described have legal issues, including cruel and degrading punishment, no opportunity for clemency, violating human rights
Other major issues:
The discriminatory nature of the bill and how it is most likely to be used to further the oppression and unjust punishment of Palestinians (see the articles linked)
Its application in occupied Palestinian Territories would violated international law...
This is clearly aimed at punishing Hamas. Israelis feel deep anger against Hamas and are unlikely to feel sympathetic towards them. However it is also clear that this will be very ineffective as a deterrent against a people who valorise martyrdom and clearly see this as a reasonable risk
In Israel's existence, they have executed 2 people: 1 was a high ranking Nazi, the other was posthumously exonerated. The law proposes to extend the death penalty to terrorists, particularly "with the intent of rejecting the State of Israel" www.dw.com/en/israel-to...
Some bad, but important, news that I haven't seen covered on here is Israel's proposal to expand the death penalty: www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...
I always hate admitting that my mental health can be a product of my fallible human condition and not some sort of divine smiting. But turns out self care includes a nice environment and socialising
Breakdown not cancelled BTW I spent a week in essentially complete isolation looking after my parents' dog and genuinely felt like my life was falling apart
Woke up with such bad hangxiety today I had to write down a list of every conversation I had last night and do affirmations about how I wasn't that weird and even if I was I'm sure my friends won't mind
I recently read a set of short stories by him and it was rubbish
Perhaps I'm too cynical - it's a nicely constructed story! But I found some of the passages pretty convoluted
Imo it's the best way to read dracula! It's not an amazingly well written book but it's a cool way to add suspense
Sorry Augusta not Agatha!
And I'm not a fan of the weird male servant at all
Impressions: the leads and Aunt Agatha are brilliant. I'm much less convinced by the love interests and Miss Prism. Love the costumes but the bit with the pink dress at the beginning felt completely pointless?
youtu.be/obX-HGs-PS8?... The National Theatre production of the Importance of Being Earnest is available for free until the 18th! I'm watching now :)
Cleaned my flat and had 2 weeks of beautiful weather breakdown CANCELLED
I just love to have a system
I did a big spring clean this weekend. This past year I've been using an app called Tody to keep on top of cleaning (which frankly I'm still pretty bad at), it's very satisfying and I really recommend it
