#A2Council, Did you know that nearly 1/7 residents in Ann Arbor play the Summer Game? As Board President, I am a proud supporter of this incredible program that reached 17,000 players last year. Huge thanks to the staff who make it possible; it truly wouldn’t happen without their hard work!
It does indeed appear that someone left their cake out in the rain. 😂

Husband and I walked down to the Dairy tonight to get some ice cream and wine. I looked at him and said “it smells like snow!” A block later, a guy waiting for the bus called out to us as we passed: “we are going to get one more snow!” 😂❄️ #midwesternthingz
Oh god, don’t make me have to whip out my Townie cred.
Yup. Anything that could potentially interfere with the ability to drive. Plus, in Ann Arbor, since we have to clear our own sidewalks in the winter, adding them in front of a house is seen by some people as ableist.
We hear people so often at Planning saying that things like sidewalks and bike lanes are bad for accessibility. #A2Council
“…disabled people are actually less likely to drive than nondisabled people and more likely to get around by walking and rolling and taking transit. Car-heavy cities are also disproportionately dangerous for disabled folks…”— @nondriver.bsky.social
Don’t use accessibility “as a political football.”
Fascinating. The realtor/developer/builder mentioned in this article (who thought we should build more) was an interesting fellow. aadl.org/taxonomy/ter...

Naming conventions for women are about the only thing that has changed.
Yup. :)
A newspaper article from 1972, talking about how residents feel about growth in Ann Arbor. It could be from today, only all the women are called Mrs. Husband’s Name.
Let’s see, what were people talking about 54 years ago in Ann Arbor?
Oh.

1. Here’s a thread on #NIMBY (“not in my backyard”) and the challenges of change in cities:
First off, although it might feel that way, NIMBY isn’t unique to your city, and it’s (probably) not worse in your city than anywhere else. It’s also not surprising, since it’s largely about human nature.
I mean, Enhis and Sons was nearby and pretty much a hattery and bootery, so back to the way it was, I guess. 😂 (aadl.org/aaobserver/1...)
Alas, I do think that vibe is back in.

Ha, ha, ha. Come on MLive!
And the Ann Arbor Comprehensive Land Use Plan has passed! #A2Council
Oh! I thought that was a vacation joke. 😬 We will miss you!
@dimcheff.wtf Whatttt?!? Where are you going?
I feel like people think everything will get bulldozed and 100,000 units added in a year.
As a drinking game, this would have been deadly.
“Meaningful policy means leaving everyone feels like they get screwed a little bit” says young woman in support of the Comprehensive Plan at #A2Council.
Look, if you are gonna channel someone, Jimmy Stewart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington isn’t a bad choice. #A2Council
Tonight, #a2Council considers the 4th edition of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. If you want the Ann Arbor to be more affordable and more sustainable, please tell the Council to adopt the plan tonight: www.damnarbor.com/2026/03/opin...
I miss having a robust space. #RIPTwitter
So weird.
