tldr: what i really like about eurosky is that the artists are mostly discoveries, not someone we all know from NFs
but idm if there’s a TINY bit of wiggle room, if an artist did UVPSM but didn’t make the final or was in a public longlist selection
i agree but only if the NF artists are pre-2020 or something so the contest doesn’t get oversaturated with NF artists
either that or id loosen the definition of NF to exclude events like sanremo giovani, UPVSM semifinalists/auditions that are more like a talent show
It pains me that people are defining songs by their chances in a song contest. Of course we love esc for being an exciting competition and want our favourites to do well but ultimately, if a song resonates with YOU then that's all that matters. Deslocado will always mean much more to me as a song.
i know many eurofans don't like deslocado but i'm ready to defend it with my LIFE, i know it's a bit extreme to say it already ranks amongst the best esc entries for me but it's such a beautiful, subtly impactful song that always leaves me starstruck after listening
