A digital drawing of a Mutated mimic Creature pretending to be a Gilla Monster. It is slightly off colour with way more eyes and teeth than it should have and ditched the scales for wrinkly skin. The creature is curled up in a reverse S shape

Cropped and zoomed in image of a digital drawing depicting a monster mess of flesh, bone, eyes and teeth doing its best to pretend to be Gilla Monster Lizard. So far it is uncoloured.

Had a few bad mental heath days so there's been a delay in art so here is a WIP of a Gilla Monster Mimic I'm working on.

A digital headshot illustration of a creature with a long, fluffy neck. The piece is dark and moody, with a solid, nearly black background. Behind the creature is light blue glow in shapes of what resembles either claw marks or rips. The creature is giving a side-eyeing something, or someone. Dark smoke in the colour of the background seems to come from below their jaw.

It’s always good to have Dialog, Helps build the characters I feel.

My whimsy is Maladaptive day dreaming xD My characters do what they want in my own little head world and I just watch 24-7 while i’m doing literally anything.

professionals say it’s bad but Idk I think it’s helped my creature design having a constant sandbox game mode in my head that never stops.

I get a lot of Red Kites where I live, Seeing 1-4 of them daily so decided to try my hand at drawing one.
Not happy with the proportions but I learnt a lot drawing it so its a win in the end.

Some Quick and loose #Pokemon head fanart as warm ups. Will probably make more of them as they are a quick little fun thing to do.

Oh bless him! I completely understand the feeling from a cat I had in my past. It really is special when a hard start cat chooses to trust you.

I feel like I didn't explain it the best So I took a quick screenshot of what I meant but I'm sure its probably pretty standard in art programs XD

Oh it is xD added with a special interest in Dinosaurs and Creature design too I’d be unstoppable if it wasn’t for being so easily distracted and watching documentaries on the animals instead of actually drawing 🤣

It really is great I don’t know what other art programs are like but with Clip you can have the reference canvas/file open and shrink it down to have it just in the corner so you can see it While the drawing canvas is open and you are drawing on it. It’s been a life saver since i figured it out xD

One thing I do is Have all of my favourite animal features Saved as a Canvas I can open up in my art program. like a collage collection of different animal scales, feathers, Feet ect so they are all in one place

all of the ones I have collected are zoom ins and crops of images i found on Pinterest

Oh I can relate to that xD It’s not long since I did the deep dive into anatomy too. Probably around the same time. I just had the Animal special interest Autism drive to make me get a little to obsessed with it xD

yeah Bugs are a daunting task but well worth it in the end.

The more you learn how real anatomy works for various animals the easier it will get to Distort and exaggerate features as well making for even more unique looks.

also Never be afraid to reference bugs. those little guys have some pretty cool features like arm spikes, fluff and cool toes!

For mammal or fluffy dragons I tend to lean more towards Foxes, Baboons and deer for the heads with other aspects added in.

a fun exercise I like to do is take the skull of a dinosaur and reconstruct it as if it was a dragon.

For scales I topically go for Pangolins (large bulky), Iguanas(large but neat), Snakes(underbelly mostly), crocodilians(super cool backs, arms, and tail), large fish(for stream line look) and bearded dragons or thorny devils (for spiky spikes)
