Calm. We've been far too edgy these past few weeks.

There's a whole range of opinions on Gibson (there shouldn't be, but there are). But even those opposed to his tenure should look at other clubs and be thankful. He's made mistakes, but even they were arguably for the benefit of the club in his eyes. And he's never let us get in this position.

I'm not sure. I fear this may be him. Moments of brilliance surrounded by dimwitted choices. Even in the first few amazing games, he had it in him.

He's got the ability and many times he's great. Perhaps we need an old school defensive coach to get hold of him?

Love it if it was, except we've been having 70% possession and double figure chances game after game and getting nothing from it for weeks now.

The quality of the chances are dictated by the build up. Recently we've been all frantic effort. I think we've missed someone who can carry forwards first.

Who else carries the ball forwards, honestly? We pass it, yeah, but who carries the ball into space?

I'll say it again. Hellball doesn't work without Hackney.

Frantic passing is great, but it mainly works after someone carries the ball up the pitch into space and plays the "right" Hellballish pass at the end.

Apparently Hackney is literally the only player we have who can do that. #Boro

Seeing Andy Kershaw's passing has reminded me of coming home from a rock club in #Boro at god knows what time (Centrefolds, Blaises, Arena) and watching "As It Happens" with whatever I could rustle up in the kitchen without waking the family.

I know this is "just" a council post, and there are a hell of a lot of mitigating factors at play, but I know this neck of the woods reasonably well. Even in council elections, for the Greens to beat Reform there is huge. People are seeing a "hopeful" option.

Without instant defence into attack, Hellball is toothless. With, it's fantastic. We don't have anyone else who can do that. Whatever happens, if it's Hackney or not, next season having a player like that is everything. #UTB #Boro

Don't get me wrong, I love Kim H and am 100% behind the way he wants to play, but it needs the right players. When we collect the ball in our half, "Hellball" demands a quick pass. Great... But Hackney doesn't. He guides forwards 10, 20, 30 yards into space and then plays it. 2/3

This isn't necessarily about Hackney, although I do believe he's head and shoulders better than anyone else in the league, but the type of player he is. The old school box to box. A rare beast nowadays. 1/3

We have been all season, and remain, a confidence side. That tone was set with Whittaker's problems at the start of the season.

Problem is, it seems to take very little to knock the confidence and ages to regain it.
