A marmot sits on a rock in an alpine meadow at Rocky Mountain National Park, surrounded by grasses and distant mountain terrain. The animal stands out clearly against the softer background.

Most marmots I see here are tucked into rocks below the trail. This one stood out, perched in a meadow and fully visible. I gave a subtle color boost to help it separate from the scene.
