I think it's more of a judgement of his aura than his appearance.

When I first saw his pic, I thought it was the dude from that Jack Reacher show on Amazon (with apologies to Alan Ritchson).

I had some great times at Alamo locations, from the original hay bale laden firetrap theater they built in Austin to one of its initial franchises in Winchester Virginia, and even the one they built in my home state.

But the time for moral outrage or indignation directed at the Alamo was long ago.

The company's marketing engine, which was admittedly impressive, simply managed to convince its ardent followers that the worst, most damnable sin we could commit in this life was, apparently, using a phone inside of a movie theater.

Okay. Sure.

If we're being real, a glowing mobile ordering screen is not more distracting than waiters (or 'food ninjas') dashing across your eye-line every ten minutes to grab slips of paper -- especially if they must whisper to clarify what customers managed to scrawl down in the dark.

All of these transgressions were forgivable.

Yet we now learn the line in the sand that has film bros swearing this movie theater chain off for good is switch from waiters grabbing slips of paper from tables to a mobile app so customers can order what could best be described as 'Applebee's Food.'

- Was then sold off to a venture capital firm that owned for profit youth detention centers where minors were physically and sexually abused by staff.

- Engaged in union busting tactics when employees sought reasonable changes to labor conditions, compensation, and general safety.

- After initial reports of sexual assaults came to light did nothing to stop other male employees from doing the same thing at their Kansas City location years later.

What's odd to me is that here is a business that:

- Was founded and owned by a man who threw an entire desktop PC at a woman employee's head.

- That turned a blind eye while customers and two online film critics engaged in repeated sexual assaults and harassment against women staff and customers.
