I finally locked in and painted a friend's Axe of Morkai! Took a good 3 and a bit hours but it was really nice to just hyper focus on a small thing and paint it to a high standard after completing 20 skeletons; where you don't really have that luxury

Predator: Killer of Killers is a lot of fun. They've finally understood it's an easily repeatable but solid concept; just have a Predator fight warriors from different historical periods, then sprinkle in some lore and background on the Predators themselves. Good times. Gimme more pls 👌

Sadly, shareholders must be soothed by high profits, and I do agree their prices don't need to be as high as they are. I never buy direct from GW, always 3rd party. My original point was just that they there's more to making minis than material. 100% print your own minis and support other companies!

They are definitely still really high, I won't contest that, number must go up for shareholders though RIP

Just to add to this, I'm not simping for GW or anything, I just think people need to remember GW are a massive company with shareholders and all the unfortunate trappings that come along with keeping those people happy, so these prices are inevitable on top of standard operating costs.

For sure you're still paying artists at other companies or individuals for their sculpts. It's more the scale that's different. Other miniature companies don't have 500+ brick and mortar stores worldwide to keep the lights on for. So it's not exactly the logo you pay, its everything behind the logo

I've always hated the 'it costs pennies to produce' part of their reasoning. You're not paying for the raw material. You're also paying for the artists, the sculptors, the mould, the distribution, the writers etc.
It's willful ignorance or idiocy on their part to ignore what goes into making a mini

Bit different to usual Warhammer stuff, but I painted up this sculpt for a friend's 40th bday present. First time working with larger scale. Dredds steely gaze saw me through the process though, very happy with how he turned out 💪
