And lastly, check out This Is It. Michael's last project depicting the time, effort, and energy he was putting into his final tour. You'll see a man who was a perfectionist to his core, but also a man of love, faith, and trust. A true visionary age humanitarian, who was indeed, gone too soon.
Once you've done that, I highly recommend you check out the MJ Cast. A dedicated podcast that looks into Michael's life with friends, family members, co-workers, and journalists. They drive into everything from the trials to the estate.

This wouldn't be the last time Michael faced false allegations. But by this point, the media was so convinced of his guilt, they didn't even report the trial that actually took place. Charles Thomson breaks it down in what he called:

After this, things start to get weird. False accusations are made that end up following Michael for the rest of his life. This is where the documentary Square One steps in. It clears up the lies about Michael and exposes the forces that were against him and why.
After that, check out Michael Jackson: Live in Bucharest. This concert shows what a premier talent he was. It shows how he was perceived around the world, and most importantly, why he was the greatest entertainer in history.
Next, watch the Making of Thriller. Thriller is the biggest selling album of all time. And it was the video he made for it that changed music forever. This BTS look at how it all came together will help you understand his genius, his work ethic, his influences, and the man behind the makeup.
Obviously, starting with the greatness that is The Jacksons: An American Dream. Much of the story that looks to be covered in Michael will be about this time period. If for no other reason, watch it to see why Angela Bassett should've won an Oscar for a television series.
With the Michael movie coming out soon, some of you still have homework to do. So here's a thread🧵 about all you need to see to catch up:
The one Christmas film you watch every year vs the one film that has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas that you watch every year:
My four-year-old is obsessed with "Ease on Down the Road." So I'm excited for everyone to hear me and @imhoreviews.bsky.social talk THE WIZ in a couple of weeks. But first, strap in for this week's chat on the most (only?) obscure Oz film we're covering on Close Watch.
I had a lot to say about #OneBattleAfterAnother, and I honestly have more if anyone wants me on their podcast. But here's a small taste:

Now listening to my best friend @imhoreviews.bsky.social chat with my 2nd best friend Jason of @bingemovies.bsky.social about the #5-#1 box office earners of 2008, and already Jason's got things off to a good start by asking why MAMMA MIA is based on a Greek island instead of an Italian one. Back on the Binge!!
If this movie doesn't hit a billion, there's something wrong in this world.
Incredibly creative and original. So disturbing that it unsettled me for weeks after seeing it.
🤣🤣🤣

I'm struggling with that myself nowadays.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to finally give Dianne Warren her Oscar.
