Soren and Ezra each come with their own list of roomie pros and cons, but on principle, I try to avoid rooming with anyone instinctively driven to drink human blood, vampire or otherwise.

A dark urban fantasy coming-of-age story loosely modeled after the five stages of grief, make sure to check out my debut novel "Specters: Echoes of Despair", available on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Everyone is haunted by something.

"Alright, Soren. Here's the deal."

When it comes to deals, bargains, and ultimatums, Ezra Nightshade has one big piece of advice:

Negotiate from a place of strength.

Fred the Vampire Accountant is a really raunchy read, but it does a good job subverting a lot of paranormal tropes while also not taking itself super seriously. Hope you enjoy it.

I’ll probably be tempted to read book #2 at some point.

Trying to get back into reading more consistently.

I just finished reading "The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred the Vampire Accountant" by Drew Hayes

My next read is "Don't Let the Forest In" by C.G. Drews

It took a few months for the database on Goodreads to pick up the ISBN for my first book, and the primary reason I was able to set up an author page was that I used KDP to publish the eBook for both my works on Amazon, among other places.

TL;DR: It's wacky, but I didn't do anything special.

Bought 2 more volumes of manga for the heavily queer-coded psychological horror series that I won't stop gushing about! \o/

My reaction anytime I encounter AI slop in the wild:

It’s both my putting my ADHD addled brain to use, and my keeping it in check.

I also just find it more productive to focus on other solutions for awhile when I hit the wall. Breaking is good for getting a new perspective.

I'm finding myself jumping between three different projects because whenever I hit a roadblock for one novel, I immediately figure out a solution to one I had for another project.

I'm a hot mess, but I'm rolling with it.

With that, I left to head back to my room. Did I feel bad for lying? A little bit, but I wasn’t about to lose sleep over it. Oscar and Celica seemed nice enough, but in the end, it was just two strangers being kind to another stranger. In my experience, social interaction boiled down to plastering on a polite face and putting on a show. We human beings were vain creatures, only interested in ourselves. Kindness? Friendship? It was all a load of crap. People exploited others to make themselves look better, lied for the sake of pointless social reputations, and ran away the moment they heard a truth they didn’t like. I was no better, putting on a polite persona to avoid stirring the pot with my mistrust towards the world around me. Every tepid interaction, every falsehood that left my lips, made me more broken and hollow. That’s why I preferred to be alone.

Got another 1,037 words written out for "The Life and Times of Alister Briar".

I'm going to have to stop to finish my outline at some point, though... orz

That feel when my "fuck capitalism!" crash out took the form of a dystopian assassin thriller novella I indie-published, that's centered around a man being broken trying to survive in a corrupt system that exploits him.

A passage involving complaints about a long car ride felt like it suited the vibes of today's prompt.

I know, and I need to use them more often, but books are also fun to collect! orz

Shout-outs to my fellow speed-readers who manage to tear through books way faster than intended.

My wanting to read books more often is murder on my wallet because of it, lmao.

IDK, the whole "needing to sustain yourself by feeding on human blood" thing sounds pretty bad, but to each their own, I suppose. -w-'

Alister would keep it simple, going for basic pepperoni and extra cheese.

Being a vampire, Oscar would opt for anything without garlic.

Celica, being a big eater, would demand an extra-large meat-lovers.

If this were any other racist and senile old man who lost his grip on reality, we'd be taking away his car keys and looking for a nursing home to put him in.

There are no words that can even begin to properly describe how extremely fucked up this is.
