Anyone else depressed about the AI’ification of everything programming?? Can’t look anywhere without the being a new AI module, skill, MCP, way of working with AI on your X, or some other hollowing out of what it used to be to program…

Hackers Expose Age-Verification Software Powering Surveillance Web Three hacktivists tried to find a workaround to Discord’s age-verification software. Instead, they found its frontend exposed to the open internet.

Discord was going to use age verification that literally pipes your information straight to the fascist US government, until hackers exposed it.

OpenClaw AI chatbots are running amok — these scientists are listening in Artificial-intelligence agents have their own social-media platform and are publishing AI-generated research papers on their own preprint server.

What could possibly go wrong here? 🤔

It Turns Out Waymos Are Being Controlled by Workers in the Philippines During a Congressional hearing, Waymo's chief safety officer, Mauricio Peña, was grilled over the company's reliance on overseas workers.

Once again, it turns out “fully autonomous” means “a guy in the Philippines.”

Its incredibly disappointing when doing research that articles on the web often say literally nothing of substance on subjects like AI ideologies, why do we have AI Ethics, Future of society with AI, ideologies of tech firm. I guess LLMs are goin to kill these ad supported articles in the long run 🤷‍♂️

This line graph illustrates the percentage change in agency staff levels from the previous year for nine major U.S. federal scientific and health organizations between the fiscal years 2016 and 2025. The agencies tracked include the CDC, Department of Energy, EPA, FDA, NASA, NIH, NIST, NOAA, and NSF. For the majority of the timeline between 2016 and 2023, the agencies show relatively stable fluctuations, generally staying within a range of +5% to -5% change per year. However, there is a dramatic and uniform plummet starting in the 2024–25 period. Every agency depicted shows a sharp downward trajectory, with staffing losses ranging from approximately -15% to over -25%. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows the most significant decline, dropping to roughly -26%, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows the least severe but still substantial drop at approximately -15%.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.
