On opening night when the motley troupe suddenly realizes they’ve forgotten to memorize their lines Wilhelm attempts to bail them out by reciting lines from a different play. He’s hoping to superimpose one play onto another. It may be the world’s first mashup. www.joshfeitpoetry.com/blog/im-all-...

The first LP came up as a reverent "Yes, please" while I was looking for an album that could ease me into the night: The Ahmad Jamal Trio’s casual live record, 1958’s But Not for Me. The second for when night actually comes: Code, a 2014 release from electronic musician Jun Nushimura.
And if I can get the melody and the bass working at the same time, I want people to stop telling me how hip the past is.
I can't get this 1968 lyric out of my head these days: "And I'm a genius genius. I believe in God. And I believe that God believes in Claude. That's me."
I get that they threw Orbán out. But the jubilance on the left seems a bit pathetic. The new guy represents the same right- wing populism that Orbán did. It's hardly an ideological shift. I guess we take our "wins" where we can these days?
Wilson is throwing out her slow-growth predecessor’s stubborn “I’m-from-here” comp plan so she can build “taller, denser, faster." This renewed push for density gives me an opportunity to promote something I've editorialized for b4: Funded inclusionary zoning, or FIZ.
A hostile workplace complaint filed by workers at the Dept. of Labor. There's probably not a clearer summary of the Trump administration.
Seattle defined: A city council hearing about adding housing density. A Gen Xer (against) in a KEXP hat screaming about Orcas.
Is something different happening at Bluesky today?
Judge a book by its cover.

Asking Questions > Making Statements: ECB and I went to a town hall on Friday night where Mayor Katie Wilson took the stage to be interviewed about her disappointing view on surveillance cameras.
This is why we voted Bruce Harrell out and elected her.
I forgot how much I love the @Lorde song “Team.”
Something is happening where nothing is happening. This is the koan on my block. www.joshfeitpoetry.com/blog/im-all-...
I'm All Lost In...the 3 things I'm obsessing about THIS week. Plus: the Week in X > Y. Give us coffeeshop moods rather than rock radio.
I love @ericacbarnett.bsky.social's description in her PubliCola recap. "Responding to Downtown Seattle Association’s fanciful descriptions of Seattle consumers (from “Laptops & Lattes” to “Top Tier”), Josh predicts a revolution in this week’s Maybe Metropolis." publicola.com/2026/03/20/m...
I wrote "Mental Health Poem" a few years ago. I'm happy to report it was published today by the gorge-i-oso Nova Literary Arts Magazine novacharlotte.com/volume-57/ The opening line: "Airports remind me of the fertile crescent." Click link to read. Pg. 12. #poetry
Not sure if it's a metric, but Wilson is the first Seattle mayor in memory who seems to enjoy (or even have a blast!) being mayor. www.instagram.com/p/DWAPgiNgXF...
KIRO has ignored my request to go on their show and talk about my story and my reporting. I talked to more than a quarter of SOCR's staff, mostly people of color, who shared their stories and experiences with me despite what I believe was a justified fear of retaliation.
Also: See Erica’s coverage on SOCR director questioning Wilson on top personnel.
Vietnam....
Here's ECB on our socialist mayor's speech yesterday in the heart of traditional enemy territory publicola.com/2026/03/12/m...; Wilson spoke to Seattle's capitalist class at the Downtown Seattle Association shindig. The real indictment of the economy was happening on the 1st floor, tho. Empty.
