after rewiring Reason and FL for years just to never even touch them cause I'm so obsessed with T-Force Alpha Plus you could rip it from my cold dead hands. Reaper is so fucking Arch coded holy shit, how did I not realise this before in my fifteen years of using it.

Also Reaper is so perfect for filmmaking, it integrates flawlessly with NLEs and video files, yes you can even use it to edit videos entirely within it if you really fucking want to. And scriptwriting too! And yes ofc you can load other DAWs inside Reaper, why couldn't you, watch me Reap my Strudel

Want a track to do some weird shit? Code. New VST? Code. Everything can be coded, everything can be moved and imported, everything can be everythinged. Arch btw: DAW edition. Obviously pristine native Linux support. And from the WinAmp devs nonetheless?? Which I still use ofc, I'll never give it up.

When I say it's customisable, I don't just mean skins and shortcuts. You know how in like Adobe and OBS you can move everything like a window or tab? Take that to 11. You can just write code into literally anywhere. Want a window that doesn't exist? Start typing the code for it.

Forget just buses and folders and multi channel tracks with different effects on each channel, you can even layer multiple items over each other within the same track because yes you can free-form shit in Reaper and have multiple takes within the same item and shit and it's insane.

Yes this was absolutely just an excuse to preach about Reaper to a non-music friend that evolved out of control. That DAW literally allows you to achieve the same thing in dozens of different ways, the absolute depth of minutia and convenience you can achieve is mental.
