Sorry to rant, though I know most won't take the time to read this.
I just needed to get it off my chest.

And I know a lot of you out there are in the same boat, I'm not alone in this. It's really hard not to compare yourself with folks who seem to have it all, a beautiful home, exciting holidays, a lavish lifestyle.
It makes you feel worthless when all you are is a cog in someone else's machine.

I've never had a lot of debt, always managed to pay my bills, never had to ask for outside help. And heck, now in my 40s I own my own help (mortgaged obviously). But I still worry constantly about money, know I'm only a few paychecks missed away from disaster. It's scary and depressing.

I really hate the myth that working hard will pay off.
I've worked hard in full time work all my life. But like a lot of us, I've never had the social contacts, luck or money to leverage my efforts into success. Always just running like the wind to stay in the same spot and not fall down.
