Sometimes I can just close my eyes and breathe in the love and appreciation I have for one of my best friends. This week it's supportive chats, a lunch date and knowing that the love and connection is mutual. It's a tiny good thing in a sea of stress, but it IS a very GOOD thing. Love you Prky.

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Did a cooking with @foxoo.bsky.social yesterday, we made the Smith & Daughters vegan spaghetti and meatballs and the tiramisu. Both tasted amazing!! So delicious, will make again. Nice to just do a thing like that together and enjoy the result!

I stayed out all night, I came home to sleep and nurse a hangover and smile in quite solitude and hope that I invited in the right sort of energy for the year ahead. Certainly I threw myself into it.

I spent NYE in one of my happiest way, at a party with lovely people. I got to kiss multiple people at midnight, I got lots of chances to cuddle people and it was all rather delightful and delicious.

So. I persist.

I wanted to learn to let myself want things, and ask for things, to say no to things, to prioritise myself and dig a bit further and harder into wrestling with some long term PTSD things. It's not that I haven't done that in 2024, I have, but it was also a challenging, crappy year in many respects.

This year, it seems that last year's theme isn't done with me yet and so I'm carrying on with 'naked' - it's not meant to be literal but rather about honesty, particularly with myself.
