And after a momentary panic with travel logistics, I'm now on the way down to Sheffield to catch today's 2:30PM session of the Snooker World Championship at the Crucible Theatre! Incredibly excited, never been before and to have been born at the right time to watch O'Sullivan play is a blessing
They literally are. I've been saying for ages that had we evolved as marine creatures and lived in the ocean instead of on land, we would have domesticated sea lions the same way we did wolves.
Sea Lions are the best
Alright howay Ronnie slow down, leave SOME frames for the second session tomorrow so I have something to watch in person.
Any Hollow Knight fans out there? I could do with a buddy to talk Hollow Knight speedrunning - you'll very likely know more than I do!
Thanks! Been a fan of him for most of my life, and never really thought seeing him live at the Crucible was realistic, but knowing this could really be his last time on the WC circuit, had to take the opportunity.
Holy shit dude
I'm gonna watch Ronnie O'Sullivan play in person on Wednesday.
I'm fucking beyond stoked and almost certainly setting a personal best time when I go out for my run just now.
Best way to describe it, yeah. He'll be a real force to be reckoned with once he's matured and had a few years on the world circuit.
fuck me what a throw at the end, great first showing from this lad all the same.
I can do you one better; I had a run at this same event and could have met/hung out with him, but at this time I didn't know who he was.
OH WELL.
I would wager after DDLC that Dan Salvato is probably more famous.
Really impressed by Moody's play in this match, but holy shit does he need to slow down in some positions. Some of those snooker escapes should have been entirely routine, but his approach is inexplicably reckless.

Xintong is probably the best player in the world right now, and about to be down in score against an unseeded opponent, wow. The Crucible Curse really may be about to claim another.
Alright, Snooker World Championship has started, I'll see you guys in a couple of weeks.

Not once in the 80s, 90s or 00s do I recall a politician urging the public to embrace email, mobile phones, texting, two factor authentication, online banking, air fryers, or to replace all their cassette collection with a CD collection.
So forgive me if I smell a rat.
"Earthly ambitions weigh their share,
The vastness of life does not care."
We're still looking for English commentators for a good bulk of the titles on this schedule, so please sign up if you have any knowledge of them!
I finally did it! Deadly Premonition Any% on the original release on a 360! Completed in 3:37:30! This includes the Chapter 12 (partial) skip as well as better routing and strats. Super happy with this barring a couple phases in the boss fights. YIPPIE!!!!!!!!
Pls consider supporting if you're able, TheRun is genuinely one of the best tools we have right now, and the commitment to remain ad-free etc is commendable.
Very pleased with how the show came together over this weekend on @albionspeedrun.co.uk. The rest of the Games Committee team helped craft a killer schedule, and every runner put their best foot forward and made a great showing. Seats were packed for many runs, at a non-speedrunning event
Huge appreciation to everyone for making @albionspeedrun.co.uk happen! Our hosts, runners, tech crew, and volunteers are working tirelessly around the clock to make this marathon happen. You have our utmost thanks and our deep appreciation for all that you do.
One of the genuine joys of having downtime whilst travelling to and from events is listening to live music, travelling by rail and listening to talented pianists in the stations is always great.
And that's a WR for event teardown with most of our staff already on the way home less than 30 mins after the final run! Thanks for the great weekend all, thrilled that we broke £1000 in donations in two days, on our first event!
We've officially reached the Sonic block of our schedule! What better way to kick things off with Sonic Colors 100% by @speedbreaker55.bsky.social
