Upon first glance, I thought the look of the greys in the front of her hair was a nice touch, but as I looked at it more, and realized that was reflected light in the original screenshot, not grey hair... And given her visible age... It looks totally out of place.
But ultimately, the same part of me is like "Couldn't we also just... Turn the settings down a bit? Thats kind of what a lot of it looks like to me anyway.

I'll be honest, part of me doesn't think the DLSS5 version looks terrible. Its certainly a noteworthy imtpovement over their last garbage.
THAT SAID, its a still image, and things can look much different in motion than in stills. There's no way this isn't going to add significant input lag.

I also hope the next election gives us a Dem with the energy and backbone to roll back a lot of the things that have been done since 2016. We hoped Biden would override all of trump's solo actions, but he addressed a relatively small portion.

I really hope things go well. I'm going to be volunteering for call centers, etc. to make sure that people know to get out and vote. Honestly, if we don't see a blue wave for these midterms, the GOP may have the remaining time they need to lock voters out of meaningful change later.
IF things actually swung the other way next election (and I have a whole series of cocnerns about how THAT'S going to go, for SO many reasons), you'd be talking about legal action years after the fact. You wouldn't be able to adequately even discern who all SHOULD be penalized, or for what.
Oh it is absolutely a crime, I've seen numerous attorneys online explaining which laws it clearly violates.
If we've seen anything in the last year, captain orange's cronies don't pay penalties. They might be told to stop doing something, but they don't get the same penalties anyone else would.

I want to be wrong about this, I really really want to be wrong, but... My gut tells me that nobody, absolutely nobody will have to answer for this. Nobody will be punished for this. ICE barely even seems to keep usable records at all, so deniability is built in in.

The fact that this console generation had so few games of it's own (that couldn't be enjoyed on the previous generation)... Well, it makes me look toward whatever comes next and ask "If I basically skip this, will I even really miss anything?"
Part 1/2: When we talk about "seven years", I think part of the reason that people aren't ready for next next gen is because many of us haven't gotten what feels like a proper fill of games from THIS hardware generation. Between digital, monthly freebies, and physical, I own more than 700 PS4 games. On the PS5 that number is literally 57 -and many of THOSE 57 games were also available on the PS4 anyway. Hell, I joined the PS3 crowd when it was already halfway over, and still wound up collecting 525 games on that platform(again this is digital purchases, PS+ monthlies, and physical). My PS5 collection is roughly 8% the size of my PS4 collection. I realize that most people don't accumulate nearly as many games for a console, but I also imagine that many folks similarly haven't gotten proper VALUE from the current gen hardware purchase yet. Its just nowhere close, regardless of how long this generation has gone.
Part 2/2: This is shaping up to feel like "the generation that wasn't" , because there were so few generation defining releases in that time. That's why the idea of shelling out even MORE money for the next next gen causes such a knee jerk response. We want to feel like we got our money's worth before feeling good about the next massive expense.

We carried those at my Blockbuster store, and I swear that in the two years I was there, they NEVER sold. They literally looked like they would feel gross to touch and hold as a gaming controller. We had the PS2 and XBox versions.

Totally agree @vaxick.bsky.social , this whole notion that a platform is ONLY worth it's exclusives is totally flawed. I don't care if a game exists elsewhere, that doesn't make it less enjoyable or valid.
