As someone who spent every day trying to protect my community from ICE, to the point where I was personally assaulted, I’m so disappointed Mayor Frey vetoed this bare-minimum policy that would show that he could move beyond cuss words & take real action to provide material support for our neighbors.
This is the man y’all were celebrating because he used some curse words.
Maya is one of my favorite spots. Amazing food, kind people. Their storefront being dark these past weeks has hurt.
But tonight, there was a light on Central. The smell of something incredible in the air.
They’re opening tomorrow for the first time in weeks.
Let's show up for them.

Moving back just to keep Ward 2 caucus interesting
Hey, not that anyone asked us, but we folks here on the ground in Minnesota don't give a rip that the agents terrorizing us will now wear body cams. We have enough footage of ourselves being brutalized and we'd really just like them to get out of here. It was a stupid ask and accomplishes nothing.
I'm anti-carceral but pro-consequences, so my stance is that they shouldn't charge him with anything if he's willing to stand and take the one to the teeth Representative Omar was ready to hand out.
Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.
Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.
Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.
ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.
@governorwalz.mn.gov, you're right. That's why residents and City Councils are begging you for an eviction moratorium. The modern Anne Franks of Minneapolis cannot shelter in place without shelter.
You are the only person with the authority to let families hide until it's safe.
ICE out of Minnesota. No work No School No Shopping. March downtown Minneapolis at 2:00pm. January 23
On Friday, Jan 23, Minnesotans are taking unified action. No work. No school. No shopping. We refuse to accept ICE's ongoing violent and lawless surge in our city.
This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.
kid's drawing of a truck
thank you for helping my friends come to school
A buddy in MN shared a drawing a classmate of his kid made. They've been making thank you notes for parents who have volunteered to carpool them to school so their own parents don't have to risk waiting out by the bus stop.
I really want ppl w/o Minneapolis connections to understand
You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen
*Everyone has stories like this*
Something that I would’ve never thought of — please be safe out there 🧡
Press getting hit with chemical irritants at 34th and Park.
Ice using chemical irritants on obervers
A photo of Chemical irritants
The vehicle ice crashed into
ICE rammed into a car at 34th and Park And then began to question the immigration status of U.S. Citizen Latino’s they crashed into.
They also deployed chemical irritants into the eyes of the press. Abolish ICE now.
ICE came to terrorize us. Minneapolis is not having it.
Abolish and prosecute ICE. They did a murder in broad daylight today. Imagine what they're doing in the closed facilities we're somehow not even allowed to see.
Photo of the Cedar Cultural Center in Cedar-Riverside neighborhood in Minneapolis and its marquee, which reads “we love our Somali neighbors”
Stole this from the Cedar Cultural Center’s page since they aren’t here. ♥️♥️♥️

Strib: look at those unruly protestors
MPR: one of the cops shot us
ICE raided a workplace in my district today. Two unmarked vans stole away an unknown number of workers from Bro-Tex.
Rapid responders were in force. There was clash. Pepper spray.
All the folks I spoke to at the scene were shook but resolve was fierce.
No quarter for ICE in Saint Paul.
ward 2 dfl i am ur father

Gotta give the people what they want
You knocked 299 doors (not including apartments) with a 19% contact rate. Great work!
Finding out YikYak is still a thing and it's full of pro-Fateh election posts
