A really don't think it's too niche these days to suggest that a perfect addition to a US themed Proms track would have been to get the Roots in to recreate Donuts with an encore of guest rappers over Dilla beats.
I had no real idea what I wanted from a Rogue Trooper film but it turns out this is exactly what I wanted from a Rogue Trooper film.
I saw your dad's "angry Starmer" last night
We've had a few survive the trip but the apple trees were a present to my wife so I'm especially pleased these have made it. Really glad to hear plants from your mum are settling in nicely too. I can imagine how much a difference that makes.
A few branches of an apple tree next to a wooden fence, pink tinged flowers coming through and a blue sky above.
Was worried we'd killed the apple trees in the move but they've really come back to life this weekend. Next we start work on the garden properly - and as it's tiny we might actually maintain this one.
I'd agree. I'm happy it's kept shops open, but more broadly it's now the same culturally as a £200 ticket to see Oasis when you could see 10 x £20 gigs by smaller bands.
I'd have been mildly less annoyed if our new flight later that same day didn't leave 30mins late. But I'm still bitter about it.
That's kind of my problem with it. I think record shops are great, more people should use them. But RSD is a very poor way of introducing a new generation - queue for three hours, hand over a piece of paper, pay for £100 two LPs and a 7", go home. That sounds like a miserable way to buy music.
In terms of drum and bass really landing in Be At One etc (and I mean that in a complimentary way) definitely. We usually listen to Radio 1 in the car and this remix getting onto the Saturday daytime playlist last year made journeys a lot more fun.
One of the main things UK airports are missing is a nice place for a drink next to the gates. All the bars - few of which are actually nice places - are at least a 15 minute "neck it and leg it" distance from where you need to be.
Not with Ryanair. We got through security with an hour to go and got to the gate 26m before the flight was due to leave. They'd shut the gate with 30m to go (likely oversold the flight but I can't prove it). We were back the other side of security with new flights booked before our plane had left.

This is wonderful.
A friend's parents live around the corner from the Hatzola arson and I messaged him to check they were OK - they were fine as it was basically just another thing to add to the Antisemitic attacks that are a regular occurrence for Jewish organisations and businesses in Golders Green.
The question is the most 90s song of all time and not the most 90s song of the 90s and so the answer is I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry.
My thoughts exactly! What an amazing venue to see them in!
It was an unexpected delight. Loads of people and dogs, all just splashing around, chasing and kicking balls.
A wet beach with the silhouette of Bobbie the bordoodle chasing a ball. Behind him the sun is setting in the distance with a beautiful blue sky melting into an orange glow, the Sussex coast winding it's way west.
First time we've caught a low tide sunset since moving down here. Gorgeous way to end a day.
A three hour career spanning setlist with absolute bangers going spare. But she's spent her whole career with men saying she's just a well executed marketing plan and I look forward to a few more decades of her proving them wrong.
Glad to hear it's been such a fun tour! Really enjoyed catching you - hopefully we can get you back to Brighton again soon!
That makes sense! May well have read the interview. There's something about that scene then influencing producers in the grime resurgence. Probably something in the idea that between them Roots and Tricky have quietly had an outsized impact, but I also just sound like this if I try to articulate it.
It's amazing that basically the Low End Theory night (which exists in a very particular transatlantic continuum) has had such an impact - Tyler/OF being taken under the wing of wiser heads in that scene has done something brilliantly odd. I love that it's all part of the musical language of the kids
Nice! Something really interesting in how the youth are connecting to backpack hip-hop (DOOM etc) A friend used to be a music teacher and her GCSE music kids were all grime obsessed - she played them the BoC remix of cLOUDDEAD and they absolutely loved it. Also lost their shit over Windowlicker.
If they put you on a Lumo it's worth checking the little vestibule at the back of the back carriage which is perfect for traveling with a dog. Especially if your dog likes to say hello to everyone because he's excited about being on a train.
On a related note Seabrooks should be doing Hendos flavour, not Lea & Perrins.
I think this is the important point - I'm convinced a current teen is going to do something utterly transformative with AI and it'll kill at least one of the current big firms within a decade. Also I can't really imagine what it'll be because I'm nearly 50 and I mainly use tech like an old man.
Happy birthday! Have a fab day 💜
Frank Turner onstage at a sold out chalk in Brighton. He's wearing a The Meffs vest and has an acoustic guitar sling around his neck. There's a surfboard/gravestone thing which also looks like a church hymns board letting us know this is Frank Turner, show 3,142, 17th April, Brighton.
Been to loads of anniversary tours of records since it became a thing. But there's something weird and lovely and beautiful about seeing your friend celebrating the 20th anniversary of a debut EP that you first heard in the back rooms of pubs being sung back by 10x more people than the first time.
