‘He talks too much’: how Trump’s erratic commentary is the real block to an Iran deal US president’s contradictory statements only make Tehran more wary of anything but the most watertight deal

'Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, made a similar point with a reference to Jane Austen, saying: “It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a single country in possession of a large civilisation, will not negotiate under threat and force.”'
😂😂
Top trolling there.

Fun fact: the deadly and misnamed “Spanish” flu pandemic of 1918-20 actually originated in Kansas, USA, and was taken worldwide by soldiers at Fort Riley.
(News was successfully suppressed by censorship until the Spanish King fell to it, hence the name)

Morgan McSweeney: resigned for telling the Prime Minister to make Peter Mandelson US ambassador.

Olly Robbins: fired for not telling the Prime Minister not to hire Peter Mandelson.

Keir Starmer: completely blameless and apparently without responsibility for anything.

"Legitimate concerns" is just a euphemism for "legitimising hate"

No whitewash at the white house
No whitewash at the white house YouTube video by Brexit Sham

It was ever thus. Watergate after all was not about the crime, but the cover-up.

A colleague of mine once bought a small flat in Bromley to claim as his address to get his daughter into the local grammar. He got a letter from the school saying “our private enquiry agents have established that you do not live at the address given on the application - perhaps you should withdraw”

This would presumably override the decision by Westminster City Council not to assist in these, partly due to the disabled footway user issue but mainly because it would make homeowners feel entitled to the public roadspace outside their house *which is not their property*.

The Privy Counsellor bit is pretty disturbing too - surely that rôle must place additional obligations to keep secrets secret?

Eh? Mandelson was many things, none of them very savoury, but there is zero evidence that he is or was a “nonce”.

You may well ask - why would you spaff precious commodities like electricity and water on businesses which, once up and running, employ a man and a dog, when you could attract skilled-worker dependent businesses like pharma, stent or contact lens manufacture, as seen down in Ringaskiddy?

I’m thinking of it more as a mindset. Defence briefs tend to be 🙈🙉🙊 to avoid awkward situations in court.

To be fair, what were Easyjet supposed to do? Are they responsible for official fuckups? They took the decision that they should get the passengers who had turned up at the gate to their destination without further delay. Would a “premium” airline have done any different?

Three observations:
If she got her reg wrong, it suggests she wasn’t competent to drive in the first place?
Shouldn’t Swinton have picked up the reg given didn’t tally with the vehicle, if it even existed?
The Single (in)Justice Procedure is an affront to civil rights and the interests of justice.

For all his many offences, surely nobody is saying Mandelson sexually abused any young women in the Epstein sphere?

Tell that to the plane load of Easyjet passengers left behind at Milan Linate thanks to a snafu by Italian border agency with their new EES terminals. Many had taken airline advice to arrive earlier than usual, only for border to open passport gates a mere hour before scheduled departure.

But it’s not just trump. It’s every bomber pilot or drone operator or missile firer, none of whom can behind “I was only obeying orders” because they have been told, publicly, that Defence Dept rules require them to refuse unlawful orders.
They risk arrest for war crimes if they travel abroad.

I still think it is absolutely staggering (and a massive massive character fail) that a President as obviously bad, incompetent, dishonest, mad and corrupt as this one attracts a 37% approval rate from 🇺🇸 voters & it that which will haunt America’s standing in the 🌎 long after Trump is gone

Or could his criminal law background have told him that there are some questions you just never ask your client because you might find the answers bloody inconvenient?

How will the substantial Christian Evangelical Zionist demographic (Venn diagram with trump supporters representing concentric circles) respond to this?
We know of course they don’t give a shit about Jews - they’re just a tool to create the conditions to fulfil the Rapture prophecy, to be discarded

I see the BBC has finally discovered that Trump’s corrupt regime has been insider dealing.

Keep up, Auntie.

Thinking about Carter in 1979, IIRC part of why the rescue mission failed was counterfeit parts in the Chinooks sent in, which led to the aircrafts’ failure. I’d guess things are worse now.
(And of course Reagan’s people asking the Ayatollah to drag out negotiations ?? If true…..)

Was it Windows which changed first from an egg timer to “the circle of doom” and now a coffee cup symbol?
You could fly to brazil, pick the beans, roast them, grind them and fly home in the time it takes to complete a Windows update.

This argument is a bit like the road safety debate. Nobody is *forcing* motorists to drive dangerously, but fact is they do. Instead of wringing our hands over that, we should construct an environment and infrastructure that discourages them.
PR, for example, the “speed bump” of politics!

Ireland currently uses ¼ of its generation capacity on data centres, and is heading for ½ . Microsoft sought consent to build a new one in Dublin and were refused, unless it generated its own power (which they’d likely do with gas). And that’s without considering their water consumption for cooling.

I must say I would far sooner spend an extra hour at the airport, reading a book and sipping a coffee, than miss my onward connections and pay an eye-watering walk-up fare for the next flight which, judging from my experience of the flights I catch, will be booked out already.
