I don't care how long this took, only that it is done - and boy, was it richly deserved.

Irish musician Moya Brennan dies aged 73 Moya Brennan, best known as the lead singer of the Grammy and BAFTA-winning group Clannad, died peacefully yesterday, surrounded by her family, at the age of 73.

So sad to learn of the passing of Moya Brennan of Clannad. For me, her singing was the bridge between the old traditions of Irish music and something new and vibrant as contemporary sounds and influences came into it.
Her instrument was her voice, and it was stunning.

Péter Magyar victory speech:

"We want to make a country where no one is persecuted because they think differently or because someone loves in a different way to others."

He may not have campaigned as a liberal. But this is a huge change of direction and rhetoric from Orbán’s anti-LGBTQ+ crusade.

The Pentagon Threatened Pope Leo XIV’s Ambassador With the Avignon Papacy The Free Press has documented a closed-door Pentagon meeting in which a senior Trump official lectured Pope Leo XIV’s ambassador on American military supremacy.

UPDATE: Letters from Leo can now independently confirm that the meeting took place — and that the Vatican was so alarmed by the Pentagon’s tactics that Leo shelved plans to visit America.

Some officials saw their reference to an Avignon papacy as a threat to use military force against the Holy See.

The Pentagon Threatened Pope Leo XIV’s Ambassador With the Avignon Papacy The Free Press has documented a closed-door Pentagon meeting in which a senior Trump official lectured Pope Leo XIV’s ambassador on American military supremacy.

In January, the Under Secretary of War summoned Pope Leo XIV’s then-cardinal ambassador to the United States — and delivered a lecture.

America, Colby and his colleagues told the cardinal, has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side.

This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.

But, I can promise you, as long as neurodivergent people have been around, there have been picky eaters at the table - and their reasons have nothing to do with parental discipline, too much milk, abundant snacks, or modern agricultural practices!

My God. This is a crime against humanity, as well as a war crime. We are truly the bad guys now.

Donald Trump celebrates the death of Robert Mueller at age 81.

Where are all of those cancel culture MAGA who were screeching about what folks said after Charlie Kirk died?

Decency and empathy may not “poll well.”

They may not win elections.

The folks in power don’t care about either one of them.

They’re more focused on performing cruelty to prove their (false) strength.

But without decency and empathy, we live in hell.

A line in the sand, folks.

Unadulterated evil. If you read about these people in a book, or saw them in a movie, you'd think they were just too over the top to be believable. Yet, here we are. Real villains, in real life.

"This one." Knew he hadn't forgotten about Cuba. My mistake was in thinking - after Venezuela - he'd be all in on Cuba before doing anything stupid in Iran. Does this mean poor Greenland is fourth up on the radar? And Canada, fifth? Nuts!

NEW: TRUMP FIRES NOEM.
Not for her cruelty and incompetence mind you. She said he had approved her $200 million self promo budget. That, he didn’t like.
Great timing too in the middle of a war.

To strike 1,000 targets in 24 hours in Iran, the U.S. military leveraged the most advanced AI it’s ever used in warfare.

Anthropic’s Claude partnered with the military’s Maven Smart System, suggesting targets and issuing precise location coordinates. https://wapo.st/46BFe1T

Just yesterday, Malcolm Nance was talking about Iran doing exactly this kind of thing to decoy its attackers and fool them into wasting valuable materiel. Hat's off to Malcolm again (he's usually right about these things!).

Today so far:
/ Israel-Hezbollah war in Lebanon leaves scores dead.
/ U.S. warships to escort tankers.
/ France says U.S. violates international law.
/ Death toll in war so far: 800, including 6 U.S. service members.
/ Still no coherent explanation for why the U.S. started this stupid war.
