Finally I, on a whim, picked up this game made by one person called "the travelers." It was 4 quid, and I think it might be the best thing I played this year? I put 44 hours into it since the 20th of December and was the 5th person in the world to beat it. store.steampowered.com/app/3316690/...
Things you may want to consider checking out:
-Avowed was delightful, British, and only about 12 hours long
-Herdling is gorgeous and my wife loved watching it and naming the animals
-Lego Voyagers is a great follow on from Builders Journey and just as good as Split Fiction (you should also play)
Weirdly this year I might have beaten more games than ever before? Then again, I don't often actually finish things. And a few weren't from this year. Clair Obscur, Monster Hunter Wilds, Atomfall, Herdling, 1000xRESIST, Blue Prince (kind of), Lego Voyagers and Leap Year all got completed.

Rebellion's decision to not implement any kind of temporal AA or upscaling in Atomfall is a breath of fresh air. Not only does it run at a ridiculous frame rate when maxed out, the image quality is so crisp!
