Had a great time playing the @dissonanttimes.bsky.social benefit last night. Next up, Black Water in Portland on May 9th. The Burrow started as a recording project in Portland over 20 years ago, so it’s exciting to finally play there live.
I’m pretty much open to paying for the bulk of the the pressing /duplication/whatever if I can just get a label to promote and distribute it. Keeping my fingers crossed for a couple more weeks.
Also, releasing it ourselves feels a bit like giving up on it. I would basically be dealing with all promotion / social media, as well as filling orders, by myself. I just don't have the time or bandwidth to do it well, but I really want it to get into the right hands and ears.
I'm proud of the album we just mixed, but am realizing that most labels don't want to put $ into releasing music by some random band, no matter how good it is. Q: do we just release it on Bandcamp now and then make limited physical copies later? Or wait and release phys media and streaming at once?

Gonna send it out to labels unmastered, and if anyone bites, hopefully they will handle that part of it, but if we self-release, I'll have my guy @shoozumoops.bsky.social master it.
I’m def gonna take a few days away from it. My buddy is mixing it remotely, and I’ll pay him a visit in a couple weeks to put the final touches on. Hoping to find someone to put the thing out, but if we get no bites, it’ll be on Bandcamp before too long.
Our album is nearly done being mixed, and I think maybe it’s good(?), but I’ve heard the mixes so many times and scrutinized it all so much that it makes me feel almost nothing. I hope it can at least make other people feel something.
A top 3 band for me in terms of musical and philosophical influence, whether you can hear it in our current music or not. There is a spark in this one that I honestly have not heard since maybe Times of Grace. A wonderful gift on the first day of spring.

We finished tracking our album, but I’m probably gonna have to overdub a “Twenty Twenty-Six!” at the start of one of our songs.
I shipped one of our tapes to Switzerland yesterday. The shipping cost was $10 more than we had asked for, but it’s still very cool to be able to fill an international order.
Really makes one pause and consider the difference between our wants and our needs.
Could get us signed to Epitaph tho, so maybe 🤔
My voice on its own is somewhere between mid and ass, but I can harmonize like a mofo, and it’s so hard for me to not just add Crosby, Stills and Nash vocals across this entire goddamn album.

I'm like 99% convinced that we could find a label to release this album we're working on, but the process required to find that label sounds so unappealing and self-debasing that I'm not sure I have it in me. 19 year old me reveled in that kind of shit.
I've noticed that a lot of bands on here have stopped posting, and I kinda get it, because literally the only people who interact with this account are people I'm connected with on my personal account. Kinda silly

I recorded this today, in Portland, Oregon, at a huge march to the ICE facility in SW. The crowd was full of cyclists who had ridden there in memory of Alex Pretti; members of several labor unions; and ordinary citizens of every age, including this little girl. So of course ICE deployed tear gas.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.
Went to the anti-ICE protest with thousands of our fellow community members. Lots of children, elderly and disabled people in the crowd. They tear gassed us within minutes.
