But most importantly -- find legal help ASAP.
There are non-profits (like ours!) with free legal support for immigrants!
[5] However, not registering also carries threats & risks.
Willful non-registration can lead to a misdemeanor, which may create possible fines, imprisonment, and barriers to future legal entry into the U.S.
.....so, what should you do?
[4] Note - registration comes with significant risks, especially for undocumented families.
The information requested can lead ICE to addresses and personal connections.
Seek #legal advice ASAP before making a choice!
[2 & 3] Many families who have interacted with immigration are already registered.
This includes prior visas, green cards, work permits, NTA's, border crossing cards, and more.
