When a fellow guy is like "your daughter is adorable" I have the reasonable response of saying "I know, look at her sweater! Look at her little sneakers! They've got glitter on them!"
Then we both smile and talk about day care experiences.
It's lovely.

Research how much land we're losing as a result of rising sea levels by 2100. I'll wait.
That's 3/3 arguments I'm winning on without effort. You are supremely uninformed and clearly just have an axe to grind on this, so I'm muting you. Do some research, open your eyes. You're welcome.
My wife and child would lose their home and be in tremendous hardship if I left, but I know so many men suffered those same consequences and served anyway.
It's tough. I donate and fundraise. I hope it's enough
Zelenskyy is my personal hero, and someone I will never stop looking up to.
I thought one day I would hope to meet him. I realized later I will never be able to apologize enough for not defending Ukraine in person, however, so I now fear that I'd ever be in his presence.
Because *those don't*. Mining and drilling are different concerns with different investment portfolios and industry heads.
Do you think you can use a spare offshore drilling to mine anthracite coal in West Virginia? Do you think your car can burn lignite?
Impossible to distinguish 'ouroborotic fellatio' or 'macroeconomics' and that's probably okay
Ukraine has been an inspiration to us all.
For centuries, we're going to be pointing to them as an example of what humans can do when they're committed, dedicated, and have even the most tepid and sputtering material support from outside.
what.
1) Combustible renewables make up a small fraction of one percent of all renewable energy and, unless you can prove otherwise, no GW-scale grid installations.
2) They share infrastructure funds, investment vehicles, insurance markets, analyst pools and everything else related to money, so yeah
President urges Iran to start peace negotiations by releasing non-existent, AI-generated women some rando posted about on X
Doing this video with a painting of Washington in the background is a level of irony that even he’d probably cross the Delaware again just to get away from
So when it comes to beards and hairstyles, discipline requires strict conformity. When it comes to contracting and spreading a preventable illness that directly affects unit readiness, follow your bliss, man.
One day I aspire to have enough turkeys that they name a street after me. 'I got whole streets worth of turkeys' is a brag I wish I could throw down
No one is here for speaking trumpets anymore and I'm disappointed. I want my flight attendant to get out a big brass cone and belt out "CROSS CHECK CLEAR" like a British tar
well well well, if it isn't the consequences of our actions
I'm taking the prior of her expressed viewpoint that men around kids should have the cops called on them, and adding the known likelihood that this person is statistically much more likely to display racial bias than not.
That's literally one assumption, I counted
Plenty of criticism on the right of the #SCOTUS leaker and the Times’s reporting, but has anyone actually responded to the argument that Roberts’s assessment of “irreparable harm” and his refusal to balance the equities is completely inconsistent with his subsequent behavior in all the Trump cases?
"As disheartening as this result is, I’m not letting up. My message to my Republican colleagues is louder and clearer than ever: find the courage—somehow, somewhere—to hold President Trump accountable."
Thank you for saying what we're all thinking to people we can't get the time of, Representative.
"I urged them, publicly and privately, to rein in this Administration’s reckless action in Iran. I am beyond frustrated that, on Thursday, the Republican majority refused again. A vote for a War Powers Resolution blocking military action in Iran failed in the House by a margin of just one vote.
My representative @houlahan.house.gov is pretty amazing.
Quote from a recent email:
"After President Trump posted a deeply disturbing threat to eliminate the entire civilization of Iran, I told my Republican colleagues: let this be the tipping point."

It seems like he's making a joke based on Bluesky trends, but actually, we determine the correct time to get to the airport based on how Ken Jennings feels.
Please understand we tried all the other metrics first, and we are just as unhappy as you are that this is the best way to measure it
Poe's Law thoroughly shattered as it turns out we don't like to tell jokes as grim as reality
Puff-puff-smart contract
To be clear: Roberts has to do the same thing, but also must thank you for it
Starting a new Constitutional amendment to say that Clarence Thomas needs to always be dressed in a chicken outfit and we all get to throw poop at him whenever we want.
Gotta be an amendment because of the bills of attainder thing but I still feel pretty confident in our chances
hey, boss, this seems stupid. like really stupid. isn't this still a federal crime in the US? tracking it seems like... problematic
"It's okay, we'll give them NFTs for their trouble"
oh. okaay
in the American West, we've got totally nonsensical 174-year-old legal structures about water rights colliding with climate change-fueled drought, with the federal government AWOL prospect.org/2026/04/17/w...
Checking a bag is the greatest luxury, though.
I had a flight get delayed by six hours once and basically just made friends, drank beer, and bought a shitton of candy for the plane's crew (I can never resist getting them gifts)
It was paradise, and if I had been toting a bag all around, it'd suck
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
