As a little girl I grew up hearing whispers like “maybe you will see the first female president in your lifetime!”

Today I gave up on that dream ever becoming a reality. Y’all voted for the worst possible male candidate ever just to keep a woman out of office. I have no words.

A little ☀️ to light up these gloomy times.

It's not time to doom, though. Despite the disappointment, this is the reality. Gonna take the rest of the week to digest it all and then bounce back to help my community and peers. This is not the end, I hope.

This is not what I was expecting. Was hoping for a blue birthday, but got a fucking racist, misogynistic, rapist, felon, cheeto of a thing for a future president. As someone in one of the swing states that went red, I'm just so disappointed. I thought better of not only my state but also America.
