Omelette, a fuzzy grey tabby kitten who is 4 weeks old, standing inside a box looking at the camera with wide baby kitten eyes.
When they stop looking like fuzzy potatoes and suddenly start looking like actual kittens overnight.
A very small black kitten, bottle-feeding in my lap. Photo is taken from above, so it's a pretty good POV shot. My hand is holding a bottle with a large rubber teat. Wattle, the kitten, is clinging to my hand with her front paws, claws out, while her back legs extend our behind her in a full sploot.
The stance on Wattle! She basically tries to kill me in excitement for her bottle now.
Tiny brown kitten nursing on a bottle while wrapped in a blue and white checked blanket
Morning bottle after the trauma of HAVING TO POOP
life is very difficult
Thank you for the thought! I'm usually not super hands on with fostering the tinies, that's one department I'm not in charge of, so I usually say to go check out The Kitten Lady!
Close up on a smol grey baby kitten with her ears to either side, looking at me from inside a shelter transfer cage. She looks tired, but for the record she had a big fat belly so that's good at least!
This baby from yesterday is me after working all week with most of my management team out, and then covering noon to five yesterday. I am so tired. π (Baby is okay but unable to reunite with mom, likely fell out of a car. Tap on your hoods in kitten season, too - it's not just a winter precaution!)
Me: Well, I've got like 15 more minutes of quiet before I need to head into work. Better try and enjoy it.
Hamlet: *SCREAM* *SCREAM* *SCREAM*

Ear tipped brown/grey tabby with white chest, neck, and paws. He has very light blue/green eyes. He is curled up in a green and white cat bed facing me, and his right canine is sticking out just a little bit.
A very handsome Claudius earlier this week, gracing me with a single toof.
A small kitten sitting in front of her siblings. Everyone is black, and they have coloured collars on. They're fluffy and adorable. Myrtle at the front is sitting up with her head slightly cocker to the side. She has wide blue eyes and lots of fluff.
Look at my very perfect and very chonky babies. I have worked VERY hard on that chonk.
Myrtle is at the front.
Awww that's so disappointing, I'm sorry. :(
I'm so sorry, that's always so terribly sad. A lot of the time they just don't make it, even with the best efforts of people who care a lot. I know that doesn't really help, but it likely wasn't anything you did or didn't do. β€οΈ
Oh I am saving that one for later, thank you!
β€οΈ I'm so glad I could help, and I love that you're adopting! We had the sweetest kitty at our shelter last year with entropion, I'm glad you're giving this one a safe and loving place to land. β€οΈ
I am so tired though, y'all. And the decision fatigue is real.
I joke about some of my coworkers being my emotional support humans, but especially in something like sheltering it actually DOES help to be able to bounce ideas off someone and have confirmation you're making sense.
The person who brought this little girl in DID try to reunite with mama first, fwiw. I just try to include that PSA whenever I post tinies. I'll say it a lot, but tiny babies almost always do better WITH mama even if it's outside, than away from mama even if it's inside. β€οΈ
Made it through the week my job was set on Hard Mode! π I have to go in tomorrow, but let's not think about that. Have a grumpy kitten to celebrate. She's fine and went to a foster home. (PSA, too young to be away from mama, always try to reunite first!) (Tiny torbie neo complains.)
A very angry and disappointed tiny black kitten sitting in the middle of her siblings. She is glaring at us like we have offended her entire ancestral line. She has only just learned how to move her ears, and she is putting that skill to immediate good use.
Wattle is deeply disappointed in us. I'm not sure what we've all done wrong, but there it is.
I probably did the blankets wrong or was late with lunch.
Black and white photo of a medium haired tuxedo tabby sitting curled up in a top hat which is nestled in some kind of fur pelt. The cat has a contemptuous look on its face.
Look at this posh skrunkleton. Postcard from my collection, 1912. π©
There's a lot of things I can't control. But I went way out of my way today to help reunite a cat with an owner. Last time I interacted with the owner they screamed at me, actually, lol. And I'm not saying that as a brag, but there's a power in knowing you can actively *choose* kindness.
SAME.
One of the few things keeping me sane (realistically since 2022) is that I get to be professionally kind and Iβm making the world better even if itβs in a very small way.
"Multi tasking isn't actually effecti..." I don't know what to tell you friend, sometimes a bunch of time sensitive things are happening at once. I do what I can to delegate, I promise. xD
I mean the negative is my brain feels like scrambled eggs bc half of management is gone rn and I've been doing five things at once for two days straight. But you know, bonuses as well.
At one point today I was texting on two phones, responding to an email, and talking to a line of coworkers. >_>
A bonus about my job is that even when it's incredibly busy, I know I spent my day actively helping animals and people. It gets said a lot, but helping even in small ways (when you can and aren't burning out on it) can legit be good for mental health and maintaining a sense of control.
He originally showed up in our yard in the pouring rain, dressed in black, and loudly monologuing about the unfairness of it all. I have never in my entire life named a cat that fast.
Every. Single. Time.
A very tiny black kitten asleep with her nose against the door of the cat carrier. She is a bit fluffy, and she has lots of warm blankets. You can kind of see two blurry siblings in the background.
We went on a field trip to my parents house! The kittens got to sniff new humans, and meet a new dog, and then it was very exhausting.
He's already gone back home with his caretaker. π His healing has been progressing well and they're comfortable taking care of him until he's back at 100%. β€οΈ
Awww, what a lovely shoulder cat! πβ€οΈ
Ear tipped white and orange tabby cat. Him is built solid and still has tomcat cheeks. In this picture, he is wearing a plastic e-collar, and reclining on his side on a raised platform bed covered by a pastel striped towel. He is leaning his head down to meet my hand that's scritching between his ears, and has a look of bliss on his face.
My most recent most special boy at work, who's since been returned to his caretaker. Chicken Nugget is a TNR'd community cat who had a large open wound on his shoulder that wasn't healing well outside. We were lucky to be able to hold onto him for a bit while he worked on recovery. β€οΈ
I think I did that time, and she briefly allowed.
