Typically I will look thru the associated feed and if most posts have comments turned off, I will mute that feed. Again... in acknowledgment of the apparent desire for privacy.

I don't typically force myself where I am not wanted.

If I like a post and then see that the comments are turned off, I unlike it.

My likes come with the potential for comments. That's just how it is. I don't block or do anything like that. So, it's not punative... It's simply an acknowledgment of your desire to make the post private.

That's how it's been for a long time... at least 20 years.
