Thing is, you can easily write a story that is just wall to wall action, story point to story point. Lee Child doesn't waste time on telling you the colour of the carpet and where the fireplace is in relation to the door.

That actually sounds great but I can't think of any high res pixel art remaster. Maybe the Sins of our Father remaster but I haven't played it!

Thinking of the SCUMM era Monkey Island remakes, most prefer the original art. You can save anywhere and the only QoL I can think of would maybe be a hint system.

In walkable cities it would still make more sense for Brianna to order groceries for delivery with 1 vehicle doing 10 household's shopping locally than have 10 cars go back and forth. And delivery would still be cheaper than owning and maintaining a car
