Part of Black liberation has to include a shift in how queerness is perceived.

Often, queerness is still perceived as “other.”

We’re moving in the right direction when the presence and involvement of queer people is not “special” or serves an end, such as representation purposes.

It just is.

When queer niggas (gender neutral) are seen as a regular and integral part of Blackness, Black culture, and Black liberation (because we are) — then we can begin to truly have even more fruitful conversations.

Thank you for sharing this. It instantly helped to reframe personal experience, often reflected on via an experience lens that wasn’t afforded to those who raised me in the similar circumstances.
