Aberdeen homeowners are fighting for the roofs over their heads but our investigation reveals the council knew of RAAC dangers years before they even began checking homes. www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/6837...

Is it a veiled threat by Aberdeen City Council? Torry homeowners impacted by the RAAC concrete crisis think so.

The moment @audreynicollsnp.bsky.social breaks rank with @aberdeencc.bsky.social co-leader and fellow @snp.org colleague @christianallardsnp.bsky.social saying she was "dismayed" by his comments to homeowners Trapped by Raac 💣💥at @pressandjournal.co.uk Question Time debate!
I’ve rarely seen SNP politicians do this. But as we have repeatedly said, lives are on the line.

Big 💣 of the night: @audreynicollsnp.bsky.social broke rank with her @snp.org colleague @christianallardsnp.bsky.social saying she was “dismayed” by his comments during the debate.
Ex council leader Alex Nicoll also claimed ACC have been untruthful about knowledge of Siporex RAAC! 💥
Inside @pressandjournal.co.uk explosive RAAC Question Time where affected families went toe-to-toe with politicians. www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/6780070/torry-raac-question-time-debate-aberdeen-press-and-journal/
I missed being there. My fav awards night. So inspirational.
Absolutely thrilled!
Did you know there’s ’another Post Office scandal’ enveloping Scotland?
As part of our Trapped by RAAC campaign I grilled Aberdeen City Council leader Christian Allard.

Delighted to be putting our weight behind the Torry homeowners who are suffering unimaginably as this RAAC crisis only worsens in Scotland. Please sign the petition (link in article).
Aberdeen dad-of-two Kev Clarke was just 37 when he became one of many to die in the pandemic, with ‘Covid’ written on his death certificate. On what would have been his 41st birthday, we remember him: www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/obituarie...

Absolutely loved writing these 8 stories of why people from all walks of life LOVE our big, bustling, multicultural Aberdeen.
Based on census data it puts faces to stats. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. ❤️
I’m getting so much joy from using my late dad’s kitchen tools I felt sure others would be similar. I asked and our readers answered. Kieran would’ve been 33 today. His mum still uses his pen and plectrum. www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/6666...
Last year I penned the obituary of Dingwall Men’s Shed founder George Garscadden who was forever changed by the Lockerbie disaster. In light of the new drama, I’m resharing his dying memories of the horror inflicted on his home town.

Today was the funeral of my dad, Ian Gould. Strangest Christmas Eve ever. I’m ending the day grateful for how well it went and for the good times.
Lovely to see so many of his @thesnp.bsky.social pals there. If you cut my dad open he would be black and yellow at his core.
Hug your loved ones x
Thank you
Ian Gould 1952-2024 💔
• Earlier tonight, with my aunt Janice and I beside him, my dad passed away. I’ll post something more befitting of the father of an obits writer a bit later. For now, to the first man to hold my hand, it was a privilege to be the last woman to hold yours.•
Starters have been ditched in favour of extra sides, and desserts are under the authority of the official Christmas convener. Me.
Pavlova it is and it will be unrivalled. Toppings may be subject to polling.
Mince pies were reclassified to post-dessert extras.
For Baileys, see mince pie clause.
Turkey for one, spare ribs from the Chinese next door, roast beef, chicken tikka masala &peshwari naan, rosemary roasties, gratin dauphinoise, honey parnsips and a mountain of buttery veg.
It’s been decided after 3 WhatsApp polls & a town hall in our living room, Christmas dinner will be at home (not option B restaurant or C, volunteering at church).
Based on everyone choosing their own dish, we are eating this ubiquitous banquet…
Facebook just reminded me that four years ago today I was just waking up from the first of two ops for thyroid cancer. My goodness I’ve come a long way since then. Literally, and figuratively. We moved from Newcastle to Aberdeen, we bought a reno & I returned to journalism. What a ride!
Bullying is as old as going to school itself but this feels like a threshold is being crossed… what’s going wrong?
