If you want to move your file-sharing workflow to EU infrastructure, Dropshare makes that easy. Because it supports many storage providers and protocols, you can build an EU-focused setup with services like Hetzner Object Storage, Koofr and other EU-based providers.

Posts by Dropshare - upload file, share link, done.
If your Mac screenshot workflow still ends with digging through Finder and uploading manually, this might help: how to send screenshots straight to S3 and instantly get a shareable link. dropshare.app/blog/posts/1...
If that kind of workflow sounds familiar, Dropshare might click for you:
dropshare.app
And if you want the setup side:
kb.dropshare.app
I also think this matters more than feature checklists do:
good Mac software should disappear into your routine.
Keyboard shortcuts. Finder workflows. Screen recordings. Uploads that just happen. Links ready when you need them.
Less ceremony, more flow.
What I still like most about it is that itβs not tied to one storage silo.
You can use your own setup - S3, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, WebDAV, SFTP, self-hosted stuff, and more - and keep the Mac workflow fast on top of that.
The workflow I wanted was simpler:
take screenshot or file
β send it to storage I already trust
β get a link immediately
β move on
Thatβs a big part of why I built Dropshare.
A thing Iβve believed for a while: file sharing on the Mac should feel way more native than it usually does.
Too many workflows are still:
take screenshot β find file β upload manually β wait β copy link β send link
Thatβs too much friction for something people do all day.
Update day - Dropshare 6.10 is out, including:
- support for MEGA Object Storage
- MCP server
- 5 new landing page designs
and bug fixes:
- full screen recordings using the wrong screen
- floating captures appearing on wrong screen

5s are gonna be added for the next build.
(If you're on Setapp, let me know. I just pushed it for retail downloads)
Beta 6.10 (6168) is now available and adds this feature. See here how to install beta builds: kb.dropshare.app/how-to/how-t...
Got it. Sure, I'll add that option to the settings and will let you know when a new beta build is available, won't take longer than an hour or so.
Well, it wouldn't be a big deal to add that feature to Dropshare. It would work only if floating captures are enabled tho, otherwise, the screen shot in the clipboard would be overwritten by the upload URL immediately. Why switching away from CleanShot anyway though? Their app is amazing.
If you wish to have the actual screen shot copied to clipboard, enable floating captures and click the "copy" button on the floating capture:
It will
a) copy the screen shot to a user-selected local folder
b) upload the screen shot (automatically or, when floating screen captures are enabled, on button press) to a configured storage service and copy the URL to the screen shot (or any other file) to the clipboard automatically
Maybe we misunderstood each other; Dropshare is copying the URL to the uploaded screen shot into the clipboard automatically, not the screen shot itself.
Use default macOS shortcuts: kb.dropshare.app/how-to/how-d...
Copy screen shots to a folder on disk before uploading: Enable "Copy captures to folder" in Screen Capture preferences
See temporary floating screen shot on screen: Enable "Show floating screen captures" in Screen Capture preferences.
Yes, that's a primary use case of Dropshare. All of that is possible.
If you plan to use Dropshare to share files or screen capture with your favorite macOS AI assistant (like Claude Desktop or Cursor), check out the MCP server we provide:

Sharing files with your Mac or iOS device while keeping control over storage and privacy? Dropshare can be self-hosted. Weβve compiled a guide and setup tool here:

A screen shot of a help text window explaining how to pixelate parts of the screen during screen recordings.
I've had the idea for quite a while now, and now it's part of the latest Beta build:
Redact parts of your screen during recording to hide sensitive or irrelevant information.
I might be a little starstruck right now learning that you use Dropshare. :)
Dropshare 6.2 is out! It brings support for
@fastmail.com Files and adds new features to the screen shot annotation editor, floating captures and the CLI.

Dropshare 6.1 is out - the first big update of Dropshare 6 brings a brand new annotation editor, and many other improvements.

Screen Shot of new Dropshare annotation editor
The latest beta of Dropshare 6.1 features the new annotation editor. While it doesn't seem like much, the previously built-in editor had been ageing quite a bit. This new editor has way better usability for creating and editing annotations, and will offer new features in future updates.
Nope, it just magically appeared there some years ago. I donβt even know how it works to be honest. π
Thanks Justin! Have you reached out to the maintainer who added the app before? :)
Day 2 of Dropshare 6: First of all, thank you for your support. You're amazing! There have been a few updates in the past hours which address some issues and crashes that occurred in the first release version of Dropshare 6. Please make sure to update to 6.0.3! π
And I thought it was pithy already π
