I really needed to see this thing I just saw on Tumblr:
Write it badly or it'll never be written

Suddenly everything is a vector.
For my space folks, here's the clip from the ISS of Artemis coming home:
This is yet another place where covid/long covid can creep up and bite somebody.
I thought birds were cool, but didn't get into them until we moved from SF to Oakland. Every morning, all the birds! Asked a birding friend if there was a "Shazam for birdsong." She pointed me at Merlin, and yay!
I'm in love.
Slides these beauties over to @robinkimball.bsky.social and @beaucoupkevin.com
remember all those cruise ships that got absolutely annihilated by covid and turned into floating biohazards. just thinking about the navy. no reason
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

"The 25th Amendment talk, by contrast, does none of that. It medicalizes what is fundamentally a political, legal and moral crisis. It frames the problem as “he might be unwell” rather than “he is breaking the law and abusing his powers.” One is an excuse; the other is culpability." - Andy Craig

Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.
Came up with a project while riffing over beer with the beloved.
Thirty seconds later:
"Fuck me, that's a thesis."
Already have a local card (Oakland), but was talking about how to get one for places I visit often! (think parental visits)
I can't get one for Crown Point, IN, but may qualify for a Lake County card. Will check when I go back.
Can kinda tell where my head is by what I throw myself into at any given moment. Deep grief sends me on a ritual cleaning spree.
Just hung the living room rug on the line out back and beat it.
Go to put your mouth on a body and come up with a mouth full of chemical. Ack.

The Free Speech Coalition is serious about starting an adult industry credit union. Part of this is being able to show regulators that enough people would use it, so please fill out this form if you're interested!
(Yes, credit unions can issue credit cards!)

Not headed back right away now. Yay? I'll take it as a yay.
Tim Curry in Legend introduced little me to some notions.
"can"
"should"
2 different questions.
Who do I know that's a women's size 8 shoe?
There's a fence covered in huckleberry a couple of blocks away. Just started blooming this week, so I walked over specifically to huff it
We need to understand power as a pathology.
What insulates you from consequences tends to unleash the impulses you would ordinarily curb out of fear of those consequences.
As you find you can get away with more and more, load-bearing parts of you erode.

Thanks. So far it's been The Best Case Scenario of Things You'd Rather Not Deal With, so I'm grateful for that.
Whelp. Gotta turn around and head *back* to the Midwest.
