This ought to be essential viewing! 📺

@squidgerugby.bsky.social raises very important points about Welsh identity, and the wider cultural meaning of decline and neglect. As a proud Welshman, I always love seeing Wales performing on an international level, so this really hit me #Wales #Welsh #Rugby

The turnover he wins on the 50th minute where 9 is about to play the ball and Jac blasts one player out the ruck, gets back to his feet and blasts two more is one of the most freakish things I've ever seen in a rugby pitch.

Garyn Phillips with an all-time ten minute performance. Comes on, instantly pulls off an incredible finish, followed by the greatest injury in Ospreys Rugby history.

The Scarlets bottled that so hard they should never be allowed to sell a pint on tap at the ground again

Taine Plumtree has now received more yellow cards this season than Glasgow Warriors or Munster have in the URC this season, and the same number as the Sharks, Dragons, Edinburgh and Cardiff.

I hope they at least put the full game up after the fact. Impossible to cover when there's no footage of the part where the game was decided!

Another tackle, another tapping of the sign:

The tackler getting low is to protect the tackler as much as the ball carrier

Any other team already down a 9, being forced to choose which player to bring off for their sin-binned prop, would choose a forward rather than lose a second back, but France have seen Wales try to attack before.

Can confirm everyone was having an excellent time in the stadium appreciating the rugby (despite the rather one sided traffic). A great day for women's rugby in Scotland.

Think there's more people at the u21 game than the first international I went to. The record 3994 crowd 4 years ago felt so special and that the team were starting to get the support they deserved. Selling out the Hive 2 years ago felt huge. But 28,000+ today, it's come so quickly and it's amazing

Scotland are losing 68-7, and compared to 2s from England their ball seems slow, yet their 3.7s ruck speed would have been the second-fastest of any team in the men's Six Nations. The women's game moves a ridiculous amount faster, it's crazy.

Weirdly specific for John Dobson to emphasise that Warrick Gellant hasn't strung any nuns up from a tree in the last week.

Eillien Clarke is having an absolute stormer. Everywhere on the pitch. Won one scrum penalty. Whenever the Roses are getting on top, she's staying squeaky clean and just going backwards so they can't win cheap penalties. Honestly a quietly heroic performance.

Welsh rugby also contains multitudes

Sharing my instagram story here too. This is something that cannot and should not be ignored.

The fact that Munster are blocking and hiding comments calling them out stinks too. #Munster #Rugby

This is a fantastic video that really is about the state of the world generally rather than just Welsh rugby.

Ben Carter has been in touch to make it clear he was NOT privately educated, as suggested in this video, and I'm really sorry to both Ben and everyone watching that this error slipped through the cracks.

The number of Welsh players privately educated within Wales is in fact four.

1. This is indeed excellent from @squidgerugby.bsky.social.

2. I choose to believe Eddie Jones really said that thing about positionless rugby to that child.

Come for the oval ball, stay for the actually incredibly involving sociopolitical history of Cymru and British cultural colonization as seen through the lens of the forced transformation of sport
