Oh the irony here when Trump is abusing his own powers to silence those who protest against him. You really couldn't make this up!

There's a simple answer here - make circumcisions for under 18s who can't give informed consent illegal except for medical reasons. This form of mutilation is no different from FGM. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
As this happened in international waters, surely it isn't an arrest as much as it is either kidnapping or piracy. I really do hope the international community (and our own government) condemn this. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/o...
Tell me this isn't pandering to the worst of our society. This is a blatantly far right policy and just saying it will sow division in our nation. People need to wake up and see this man for what he is and stop putting Reform politicians in places of power www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
When are the masses going to start seeing a pattern here and stop supporting these clowns? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
It's bad enough that journalists are being sued and tv presenters having their shows cancelled because they dare to challenge Trump but please let's not have that happening in the UK too. www.theguardian.com/media/2025/s...
But people are more concerned about immigrants who cost us a pennies compared to this www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
At what point do we start to actually treat the architects of Brexit as the criminals they clearly are and have them arrested? www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
The chancellor has just stepped down after what may have been an unintentional act while many who complain about government corruption stand by and let this man avoid taxes publicly and intentionally. Oh, flags. That's ok then! www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
If this isn't a reason to replace the House of Lords with a fully elected second chamber, I don't know what is! www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Funny how those who openly advocate abuse and sometimes even the death of refugees seem to be able to do so freely while those who protest against regimes that create refugees are being arrested on charges of terrorism www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...
Possibly a controversial view but I do think that with the measures above that motorway speed limits should also be safely increased to 80 MPH to match the 130 km/h limit on similar roads in many other countries.
Scrapping smart motorways and putting hard shoulders back would be a massive step in the right direction too.
Making our roads safer is to be welcomed but it really needs to be achieved by bringing back proper traffic policing and stopping the reliance on cameras (manned or unmanned) as the solution to every problem www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
One of the promises of Brexit was that we'd be taking control of our borders, so how does this criminal still manage to come and go as he pleases? www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
This says a lot for the sort of people who get up in arms about immigrants, you have to wonder how many of the other 3 in 5 are actually good people or just haven't been caught out yet www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
Somebody needs to figure out that being appalled by the treatment of Palestinians by Israel and speaking out about it does not mean you're a terrorist or support a terrorist organisation. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...
This is one vile result of the anti abortion laws currently spreading across the USA and demonstrates the relegation of women in that country to baby factories www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Commentary brought to you by the government who, in recent months, has bombed hospitals and indiscriminately fired upon (and killed) civilians, journalist, aid workers, paramedics, etc. Pot, kettle, black? Anyone?

This is disgraceful. France already has an excellent high speed rail network and Spain and China are rolling them out at a high rate we can't even manage to get our second high speed line online anywhere near close to target! www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
Finally we have some common sense in our relationship with Europe www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...
We seem to be forgetting what happened when a previous British prime minister tried to appease a tyrant. That tyrant was elected democratically by his people too and used the religious right and his close friends to help carry out his policies.
The actions of US immigration services are even putting people's lives in danger www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
Just criticising Trump can get you banned from entering the country www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
As concerned as I am about the way things are going in the UK, the US government really ought to stop arresting and deporting legally resident immigrants for what appear to be free speech issues before criticising the rest of the world www.theguardian.com/media/2025/a...
Perhaps Greenland's authorities should take a leaf from their visitors playbook and withdraw any visas they have, hold them for interrogation at the airport on arrival for not having the correct paperwork, leave them in a nice cold cell for a couple of weeks!

No, just no. Trump is showing complete disregard for democracy, the courts, and the borders of sovereign nations. Starmer must not become a modern day Chamberlain. @labouruk.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
