In cases where there is a clear understanding of the threat-actor a label such as, nation-state, financially motivated, etc. is appropriate. If that threat multi-prong they receive multiple designations, ie, North Korea's Lazarus Group, they are at a minimum a financially motivated & nation-state.

Should the industry start to move away from the use of the term Advanced Persistent Threat as a way of describing an intruder? If media reporting labels everything from highly motivated financial threats to nation-state actors as "APT", maybe it's time the term is retired.

1. You visit a site and are requested to "verify" you're human.
2. A pop-up requests a user press Ctrl-R and enter commands.
3. Those commands, often PowerShell, pull down executables and setup remote access.

If a stranger approached you on the street and asked if you could unlock your phone and run a few commands you'd think they were a criminal or hacker, and you'd be right. Every day people are being fooled into click-fix attacks and it often works like this.
