The human circulatory system, before and after proper cable management.

For those of us who can remember 1989, after a long wait for top level success, Arsenal frittered away a big lead and let the dominant team of the era back into contention over the last weeks of the season. It looked like they'd blown it. But its not over until its over....

Hedgerows are in pure black, almost abstract in their hard-edged broken squiggle form. I took the photograph of the painting before I added my signature.

Have a #painting. I've painted lots of sheep, and had to come up with titles for them, which is why you have lilac sheep and sheep with stone walls or of an evening - but this was started first, a very long time ago. It went to a good pub in Dublin.

It's awful. Would it not be more worth their while to report on the great mass of people claiming asylum who are not gaming the system.

Hence a list of idea about e.g. the physics of music, project work, time dilation, modern technology etc can be useful. And any more suggestions would be welcome!

For the uninitiated, lrish schools have a Transition Year when kids are about 14/15. Which is non-academic in focus: no big exams, loads of trips, musicals, work experience etc. Which most people think is great... but trying to find ways to teach physics in that context can be .... challenging! 🧪

I don't follow tennis, but this book by Conor Niland about his years trying to break through on the professional tennis circuit is an absolutely compelling read. So much so that I feel compelled to tell you all about it....

I think/hope that most support was just for the idea that a huge increase in fuel costs is a problem, and that addressing that would be good, and comes from people broadly inconvenienced by the blockades.

It did occur to me that there must be some pretty interesting maths to it all! But if there is, its way beyond my skills.

On windy days here at low tide, the wind dries the sand and then lifts the top layer and pulls it along the beach. I really enjoy the patterns it makes.

For the next big union march, we should just ask the Guards to block the city centre for a few hours, and ask the public to imagine that tens of thousands of people are on the streets. It seems to work, and it's much less effort.

By far the biggest group on the street was at the GPO, at the Muslim Sisters of Eire soup run.

I genuinely wonder if these guys have parked up and then gone home.

I was O'Connell St last night. The entire street was blocked by tractors and trucks - but they were nearly all empty. I only saw about 20 protestors, gathered around the O'Connell monument. I feel if you're going to close the city centre and disrupt public transport, you should at least be there!

They'll have to introduce a 2nd division in the super league just for them!

And we have builders in - so it's a shitshow on both sides of the door here! No hiding place.

That the statement "rising costs are making it hard for my business to keep going," is seen as worthy of respect in a way that, "I can't afford a place to live," isn't tells you everything about the prevailing values of the Irish media.
Some people matter, some people don't.

I was there today. Stayed off the motorways and we were fine. So I would say through town and then the old Swords road. Even if there are blocks, you have some hope of escape. Once you're caught on a motorway, you're there for the duration.

Having tried and failed on this in the past, I think the mistake I made was too many lessons and not enough practise. I (technically) 'know' what I need to know - but I need time to work on it. So I think your 3 swims could be key.
