Admittedly, it's mostly just me weighing up whether I've the time, resources, and patience to regularly attend HEMA as well as boxing, as the buses here are shit and every club does things at (imo) weirdly late times.
Another case of there not being enough hours in the day.

there is a lot of intimidation in rural Ireland we don't talk about when it comes to politics. when the far right were on the move in Tipp, me and so many people I know got hit with abuse and threats, online and off, followed around when we were outside, etc. I know someone whose car was burnt out
These past 2 weeks have seen an unprecedented amount of attention focused on Ireland by US far right/ethnonationalist influencers. Weaponising an romanticised view of Ireland for their narratives, but also for money. The social media outrage economy presents a serious problem for Irish society.
Independent Ireland was always going to end up like this, a party of FFG leftovers curdling and pooling into a thin film of scum
Yet another gushing story of how bogs are "prime areas for development" with plans for a "radical transformation of swathes of the midlands".
Bogs are important in their own right should be restored not converted to data centres

I feel like I've got horny-induced brain-damage sometimes, and also a kind of unserious vibe overall. It's terrible.
I feel like I'd love a good vent sometime, tbh.

Stamp doodle logo for the @cnagaeilge.bsky.social AthGhaelú campaign "to encourage people to use Irish placenames instead of English placenames in all aspects of life."
They've also created a Gealltanas Logainmneacha "to encourage individuals and groups to use Irish-only placenames" #SpéirGhorm
Think those thoughts! Think them sweatily!!
Going to boxing still riddled with bruises from a weekend of moshing is a choice I made and now have to suffer.
The sweatiest man alive strikes again!
This is very good from Conor McCabe and one of the few piece's of analysis I have read that clearly links the fuel protests with Ireland's deeply unequal and dysfunctional grass-fed agricultural system.

Happy 20 years of Neil banging out the tunes 🐀🎶🎉
it is true that the left need to do everything we can to stop the far right taking hold of this popular anger, but people are being extremely naive about the size of that task and acting like the left has unconstrained time, resources and manpower to deploy with perfect strategy in a live situation

"The state is happy to assert it can achieve incredible and unprecedented feats of change, later, while always arguing that it can't so much as buy a new pair of shoes right now."

interesting take on the protests - although personably I’d be more worried about the casual racism and misogyny coming from some, particularly some spokesmen, this doesn’t totally invalidate the real and pressing concerns of many about rising costs and pressures on their work and lives
the same people who carry banners with Bobby Sands' face and "our revenge will be the laughter of our children" printed on them at their anti-immigrant marches, as if Bobby Sands didn't write a poem in solidarity with an immigrant mother and her struggle for the right to reunify with her family

Lovely! This also reminds me of a krill mural they have near the sauna I frequent.
Reposted as much art as I feel emboldened to today.

A black and white scratchboard drawing showing an armored knight standing amidst ruins. Heavy rain is falling and the ground is covered in water, creating a mirror-like surface. The knight is holding his sword aloft and a lightning bolt strikes the tip of the sword.

DSII has lots of very memorable set pieces imo, but none quite as visually stunning as the Looking Glass Knight fight
