60 years ago-600 peaceful marchers were tear gassed & beaten bloody for crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge & advocating for their rights. In retrospect, what must have seemed to be a moment of absolute darkness & despair turned out to be a spark for the Civil Rights Movement.
