Deadline to record historic footpaths to be scrapped Walking campaigners welcome the move, which the government says will help prevent paths from being lost.

Today’s footpaths announcement is very welcome news and will ensure many miles of ancient paths are recorded, thereby preserving their use for future generations.

Much more needs to be done to allow for responsible access across England - both on land and water.

But in the case of Dead Man's Fingers (Xylaria polymorpha)
