We get fooled into thinking he’s getting worse because his crimes are getting worse. We start to think there was a “good old days” when he was sane and reasonable. We blame aging & dementia not the man, who was always this way.

My take is that going off on Trump’s declining mental health, dementia, madness of king trump, etc is also sane washing.

It always pushes “He’s really gone off the deep end now!”, when there is not a heap of difference between him in 2016 and today - just less restraint.

Re: nostalgia for VHS tapes and other analog media, I saw someone say like "a VHS tape never sold my information to a nazi" and yes that's true! But the reason it's true is actually because Congress passed a law in 1988 specifically making it illegal for video stores to sell your rental history
