I'd been meaning to check out the Milligan run for a while. Milligan's Batman stories are mainly self contained, but I see them as connected through themes of diaspora, ethnic identity, and American colonialism in a way that seems to build with each arc. Generational work.
Abstention is a vote for trump, voting for Harris but not doing so enthusiastically is a vote for Trump, criticizing the Dems "hide and cry" strategy a year after the election is a vote for Trump, acknowledging poor people exist is a vote for Trump, Baltimore backing out of the Crosby trade is a vot

im interested in working on a longer form breakdown of my issues with tom king, his politics, and his body of work, is that something that anyone would be interested in or am I just beating a dead horse
I think king believes his work fits within a grand tradition of American comic books, but fails to engage with any critique of American interventionism or understand what can make the medium a vessel for fascist ideology.
even within the comics space, this was his process. the 'comic book' elements only exist superficially as a top coat of paint over his jingoism.
the reason lanterns is like that is because tom king's creative process consisted entirely of recognizing that "marine corps" and "green lantern corps" sounded similar. the plan was never to tell a lantern story, it was to create propaganda using name brand IP.
yea
It's kinda ridiculous how many men were single issue voters on this single issue. you would not believe how many people genuinely think this way.
this ones blowing up. fuck tom king and anyone who collaborates or supports him.

feels like the whole looksmaxxing rankings scene is a byproduct of current generations not being all that into pro wrestling. the children yearn for the attitude era but all they have is MMA.
took me a while to get back into swamp thing after finishing the moore/totleben run but i’m slowly growing to appreciate veitch’s different tone
others from this week
local shop had a bunch of leo fox comics so i’ve been catching up on his work outside of boy island. greatly enjoyed this
wonderful week at the movies
the Loeb/Sale color collection are also great self contained arcs
Alan Moore's (uncredited) miracle man series is a great proto-watchmen that better showcases his love for pulp than most of his later work, infinity gauntlet is surprisingly self contained and solid, and of course anything by Kirby needs a shoutout.
didnt know they were giving walt a print edition but his work definitely deserves one
once every year or so i’ll revisit microwave planet to remind myself how good cate wurtz is
