it just feels like its being blown out of proportion from my standpoint. Glitch isn't some huge studio and TADC isn't some massive production. I think people feel betrayed because theaters are associated with big huge studios that often are chasing profits- so again, I get it, but it feels overblown

I agree it's shit for the 80% who can't see it in theaters and have to wait till it comes out on YouTube- I just don't think this is as big of a "betrayal" as people are making it out to be. A lot of creators put stuff out earlier on patreon and such- this is just a little more extravagant I guess?

Quick warning, the creator of the poiyomi shader has had several accounts compromised yesterday.

They have partially recovered them and seems no malicious stuff has been uploaded in their name (as of now), but for the time being, be careful interacting with the accounts.

so, this "accidentally split" is honestly sad to see because its clear this wasn't the intent. The Intent was to empower Indie studios by setting a precedent that this is *possible* at all! I feel for those who can't see it in theaters, but lets make this a win for animation rather than get mad 3/3

and glitch did negotiate the time between theatrical release and the episode being uploaded to YouTube down to just two weeks from the previous *month* the theaters wanted it to be. I understand not everyone will get to see it in theaters- but its still going to release for free 2/3

I think the important thing here to remember is that this wasn't done with that mentality nor is it something they intended this to do. Indie animation that started on Youtube getting the opportunity to air an episode in theaters is a *MASSIVE* step in the right direction for the industry 1/3
