Regarding Denji and Asa I could see firepunch elements playing into the sacrifice as this is a superhero story in many ways. Maybe Denji will be the one to burn so that Asa can:

What remains is knowing Denjis end and role in the event, and if it will follow part 1 within ultimately out lasting his opponents and seeing their critical flaw. And what happens with Asa.

What comes next is likely a Makima vs gun devil confrontation but retold (like much of part 2 is a retelling of part 1) through war and death. It also represents the growing despair of the world. The end is nigh.

#csm193 we finally got what I feel was missing so far in the story: malevolence from its central antagonist. The war devil has arrived.
