That tracks with some of my experience too. I still have some more engaged students, but a large number of them are almost entirely unaware of it. And nearly all of my students just loath social media and AI (even if they use it)
An interesting result of this, in talking with some of my students, is that many of them have more or less 0 engagement with "the news": they don't watch TV news like their parents, or scroll X/Bluesky like their millennial professors, or read news websites

Recently started biking for real, and holy f-ck - the cars. I swear to absolute fucking God. The cars man. I've never in my 30+ year life seen so many stupid fucking idiots in traffic. Blind motherfuckers. They are making my blood boil. Today someone decided it was a great time to make a U-turn in the middle of the street. I kept distance but the car was jerking and was indecisive and just stopped forcing me to go right on the curb making me fall head over the handle bar and crash. Not a care in the world the driver just looked at me and drove off. Never in my life have I seen so many stupid people that can't drive. And I've had a drivers license for over 20 years soon.
A common thread among newer cyclists is realizing just how awful drivers are. There are things you simply don't notice — behavior that has been normalized — when you mostly drive. Biking, walking, or rolling through the world changes that.

Iran is fighting an asymmetrical economic war against the US and they're sick of Trump manipulating the market. Every time he lies and drops the price of oil, it pushes back the day of reckoning. They're not about to let him lie and say there are peace talks when they haven't agreed to any.
It’s extremely unfortunate but the abiding lesson of the Trump era is that doing federal legislation that heavily benefits red state rural areas doesn’t get you any votes and benefits the rural red state reps who will take all the credit for the projects they voted against
