to be clear—we should expect to feel validated and to have some clarity after speaking with medical professionals. but apparently that’s a big ask.

at this point, i don’t know why i expect to feel anything other than invalidated and confused after medical appointments.

recommendations needed: contemporary short stories accessible online that i can use in my college classroom. bonus points if they’re a little weird, political, fantastical, and/or funny.

Am always baffled that most of my students don’t know what The Onion is!

1. Focus on things in your control & take ONE action there.

2. Limit your inputs. You can't help if you're paralyzed.

Ended up being a month and a half before my psych got it squared away

Stop letting unfunny men tell you there’s something wrong with you for not getting their “jokes”. Stop fake laughing. Let their reality reflect the truth of how fundamentally they misunderstand humor. Neuter their ability to use “it was a joke” for emotional cover. Make them see nobody laugh.

my students just submitted topic proposals for a community-based researched argument. at least 4 of them are exploring how The Protestant Christian Church can return to the teachings of Jesus to increase friendliness and community interest. This was not on my bingo card for chosen topics. hm.
