Portland is another good fit if they jump to 4th pick- already have some onball guys- Scoot, Shaedon, Deni and need spacing.

Allows them to go jumbo lineups with Scoot, Toumani, Deni, Ace, Clingan

I don’t know what happened..but I tried to auto option and Flagg went 5th. I’m pretty sure I have some weird input accidentally but it was funny

The Wendell Carter comp in this draft is Thomas Sorber for me. I don’t know what Queen is but I know he is good. The skills at that size is something

Not watching this live but do you think there is a world in which Queen gets in shape and end up as a 4 in the nba? He seem to move well considering his bulk and has elite hands

@motorcityhoops.bsky.social whoops ..forgot to tag Bryce

@samvecenie.bsky.social I see ppl put Kon and McNeely in the same bucket re their defense. Am I crazy for thinking there is a significant gap there? Kon looks like he is pretty good at staying infront of ppl while McNeely gets blown by a lot. I get that individual defense is not everything but….

This one definitely does NOT work but how Moses Brown end up with his current shooting mechanics flummox me

I don’t think the league is going to care about Jerami Grants and Anfernee Simons sitting out a few games with a headache

Give me one of Cooper/CMB….wanna see Toumani, Deni, Cooper/CMB, Clingan play defense

As a Portland fan, I haven’t paid too close attention any small guards for obvious reasons. But….VJ’s shot(I understand not everyone is sold on that) and defense gives him a safe floor.

There is a world in which Fears just washes out with the iffy shot, high tovs for a lead guard, not as good on D

Is he? He is the anti blazer from the Dame years. We didn’t play anyone over 6’6 who could defend.

The current team? Yeah SURE. Toumani kinda does similar things though

As someone with some FO experience, how do you evaluate prospects with strength deficiencies? Saw Jon Butler Jr’s name today and started thinking. These guys tend to take way more time than expected - makes me wonder about Will Riley and Markovic. Guess there are successes like Anfernee

Markovic and Ruzic(esp Ruzic since he missed a lot of the season with an injury) are super interesting

What’s going to be one big thing he will be focusing on this offseason?

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

lol. It’s nuts. Portland aren’t a good 3 pt shooting team but they got doubled from 3…22-46 vs 11-32.
Also Prichard went off last year at Moda center too if I remember.

Do they …always shoot like this?😅

Good data! Eye test says restricted area attempts hve reduced I.e., he has stopped taking attempts he was missing last year. Is the total number of attempts in restricted area around the same?

I quite like Riley. The stock numbers are scary low though even though eye tests says he claws and scraps

Yeah..slim pickings there.

1. What do you make of Will Riley’s season? Off to a hot start, struggled and bouncing back now but mostly by improving as a creator and scoring inside vs a hot shooting stretch

2. What was Carter Bryant’s pre college game like? Any pull up scoring upside?

Best bets to be pull up scorers with forward size outside of Cooper/Ace?

That’s where I’m at too. Sneak in at 10- win first, lost 2nd, pick 13. Would suck not to add a decent pick this year though

Out of curiosity - what’s your tentative order of preference on Essengue, CMB, Asa, Carter Bryant, McNeely, Kon

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

Where I’m hopeful vis a vis other defense first guys like Ryan Dunn who had absolutely no offensive skills is CMB can do a bunch of stuff. He is a decent ball handler for a 4, he is an above average passer fora. 4, he can definitely punish a mismatch…it’s the shot

I get that. For me, I’m always wary of undersized inside out guys in college. But the more I watch, the more I’m hooked…esp the defense. Legit think it’s special- saw him defend bigs to wings to guards no problem while quarterbacking the defense. It’s a bet that the shot gets to okay on offense

@dannymarang.bsky.social Collin Murray Boyles - he is a big in college the way Toumani was a big in college. Granted he doesn’t shoot at all now but I’d take the guy who can defend, rebound, dribble, pass, score inside but just missing the shot vs develop all of the above

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

I just don’t get Malauch. But a lot of smart draft ppl have him super high. So assuming I’m missing something there!

What do you think of Tre Johnson on D? Can he be a neutral defender?

How low do you have Asa Newell?

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

You’re preaching to the choir re Queen. Absolutely adore his game. Also love Collin Murray Boyles- would be super fun watching a lineup with Clingan protecting the paint and Toumani, Deni defending the perimeter and one of Cooper/ Asa/CMB at the 4

I’m not a huge fan of McNeely/Kon as the pick eithe

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

Did he see the whole online chit chat about him!!! Maybe that’s the way. Chat smack before games 😂

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

😂 The odds are getting lower and lower but we can still hope. Who is a guy in the 8-12 range who you’d like to see added to this? I keep seeing ppl mock shooter like Kon/McNeely but I like the idea of adding another big forward like Essengue or Newell(assuming he can play the 4). Go upside hunting
