Fair, it definitely feels trying to fans trying to self-justify, or trying to bring business to an art fight.
I dealt with a lot of that BS when Sonic 2 came out. People just deciding that they will like it regardless, and taking critique nonsensically personally.
We can and should provide nutrition, but there will always be a market for empty calories.
It's less of an issue of making kids settle as it is that kids have different priorities than adults, and certain kinds of novelty can be really potent if you don't have a lot of mature experiences. Stuff like a beloved brand, or an absolute earworm, or puerile humor.
SEGASonic Radio will ALSO have a short but sweet bonus episode this week on April 1!

Found the DC x Sonic books to be painfully bland. Pure brand-exercise crossover storytelling.
This is at least conceptually interesting in the abstract, but I do wonder how much will actually be story vs. action sequence.
