This sounds like a functional data analysis-FDA problem. Would you like to share your model in lmer notation?

Is it just me or the barplots with uncertainty looking terribly ugly? Why not point-interval or something else?

Regression, Fire, and Dangerous Things (1/3) It isn't my job to disappoint people, but I'm good at it.

Maybe this post from the same author could help

The other day I saw a post on LinkedIn saying the Bayesianism has failed.
I felt like the time machine had worked and I was a few decades back in time.

You've made Bayesian statistics approachable. It's a lighthouse in a storm of confusion.

Join the Probabilistic Storytelling Discord Server! The Probabilistic Storytelling server is place for discussing all topics related to the modeling of explicit data genera | 109 members

If you ever find yourself struggling to conceptualize/develop/implement interpretable statistical models in a world of black box methods, or are just interested in talking about them, I set up a Discord server for (narratively) generative modeling discussion some time back, discord.gg/gGUzQ5dg.

I've found myself struggling to choose the right vocabulary for an EDA.
In a boxplot series, can I say the median in A is higher than in B
In a scatterplot can I say the blue points are higher than the green points?
It doesn't sound right but I've seen it. Any literature about the subject?

It really isn't ok to omit the raw data from plots like these, especially when there are only ~50 study participants. And why isn't there any indication of uncertainty in these modeled fits? And don't get me started on the x-axis labels. This is THE result from this paper. Why should I trust it?

Given that this discussion can be helpful for someone else out there it would be good to give a feedback, no?

We've made a major update to the causal diagrams chapter of Causal Inference in R! Check it out to learn about DAGs! I think there's a lot in this chapter that is undercovered in other sources. #rstats #causalinference @lucystats.bsky.social @travisgerke.bsky.social www.r-causal.org/chapters/05-...
